Bheemana Amavasye: Simple celebration at Suttur Srimath

Suttur, August 6, 2021: The Jagadguru Veerasimhasana Mahasamasthana Math, Suttur Srikshetra has informed that the ‘Bheemana Amavasya’ festival will be held in a simple way this year on August 8.

The special Amavasya pooja and other programs will be conducted in a simple manner due to the fear of possible COVID 3rd wave. Entry of devotees during the celebrations has been restricted due to the fear of spread of the pandemic.

Language teachers of our school took part in the webinar organized for the benefit of Kannada, English, Hindi, Sanskrit language teachers, organized by the Office of the BEO, on 31.08.2021. The BEO discussed about the measures required to be taken to improve the classroom education and results.

Independence Day Celebrations Marked with Patriotic Fervor at JSS Educational Institution, Suttur

Suttur, August 15, 2021: The JSS Educational Institution in Suttur commemorated the 75th Independence Day with a grand celebration on its campus. The event witnessed the hoisting of the tricolor by Sri S.P. Udayashankar, Administrative Officer of JSS Institutions.

The highlight of the ceremony was the enlightening keynote address delivered by Sri Chakravarthi Soolibele, a renowned columnist and social activist. Sri Soolibele reflected on India’s journey, emphasizing the nation’s resilience in overcoming challenges and adversaries both before and after gaining independence. He emphasized the importance of recognizing our strengths, overcoming internal divisions, and harnessing our collective power. Sri Soolibele also expressed pride in India’s progress, highlighting the country’s emergence as the sixth-largest economy globally and its successful handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, which garnered international admiration.

The distinguished heads of various departments of the institution, including Sri G.L. Tripurantaka, Sri Sampath, Dr. M.C. Nataraj, Sri S. Shivaswamy, Sri G. Shivamallu, Smt. C.P. Nirmala, Sri B.M. Siddappa, Sri G.M. Shadakshari, and Sri Mahadevaprasad, graced the occasion with their presence.

The program commenced with a soul-stirring invocation by the school’s talented music teachers, setting the patriotic ambiance for the festivities. Sri M. Rajashekar extended a warm welcome to all attendees, while Sri S. Chandramouleshwara delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event. Free Mass Marriage program at Suttur on August 13, 2021

Suttur, July 10, 2021: The Suttur Sri Veerasimhasana Samsthana Math has been conducting monthly free mass marriage programs since February 2009, apart from the mass marriage program conducted during the Adijagadguru’s Jatra Mahotsav held at Suttur Srikshetra, with the divine blessings of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

Sri Haraguru Charamurthy will participate in the mass marriages held at Suttur Srikshetra along with the relatives and friends of the couples and bless them.

The groom should be above 21 years of age and the groom should be above 18 years of age to participate in the mass marriage program. Interested people can send applications along with the photograph of the bride and groom, along with caste certificates and certificate or school marks card copy as proof of age. Child marriages are strictly prohibited.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and government guidelines, all those who participate should compulsorily wear a mask, maintain social distancing and also undergo all other guidelines like thermal scanning, washing hands, and sanitizing.

This month’s mass marriage program is scheduled for August 13, 2021, Friday. JSS College, Ooty Road, Mysuru Receives AICTE Approval to Commence MCA Course

Mysuru, July 24, 2021: JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, located on Ooty Road in Mysuru, has achieved a significant milestone as it has been granted permission by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to introduce the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course.

JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, which recently attained autonomous status from the University of Mysore, takes pride in holding NAAC A accreditation and recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a College of Excellence.

Currently offering seven undergraduate degree courses, 14 postgraduate courses, and Ph.D. programs in nine subjects, the college has also ventured into skill-based courses such as B.Voc and M.Voc. With the introduction of the MCA course, the college is now set to embark on its 15th academic program, beginning from the upcoming educational year.

Training Program on Suitable Crop and Crop Methods Conducted under Jalashakti Abhiyana by ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra

Suttur, July 20, 2021: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra organized a highly informative training program focusing on suitable crops and crop methods as part of the Jalashakti Abhiyana. The event took place in Sonahalli Village, Nanjangud Taluk, on July 19, 2021.

Smt. H.V. Divya, Senior Scientist and Head (In-charge) of JSS KVK delivered a compelling presentation highlighting the significance of water and the urgent need for its conservation. The participants gained valuable insights into the value of water resources and the crucial role they play in sustainable agriculture.

Sri Shyamraj, Cultivation Scientist at JSS KVK, shared invaluable knowledge with the attendees, emphasizing the importance of assessing soil and water quality before determining the appropriate crop for cultivation. He provided detailed information on both rainfed and irrigation crops, along with recommended methods for their successful growth. Through practical demonstrations, the cultivation of the COFS-31 maize variety was showcased, and seeds of this variety were distributed to the attending farmers, enabling them to implement the learnings.

Sri J.G. Rajanna, Soil Scientist, offered comprehensive guidance on the management of slime soil, equipping farmers with effective techniques to enhance soil quality and productivity. Smt. Netravathi Yettinamani, Home Scientist, enlightened the participants about the significance of incorporating more green vegetables and fruits into their daily diets to boost immunity. She also encouraged the farmers to establish kitchen gardens utilizing waste kitchen water, contributing to sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Dr. Vinay M., Horticulture Scientist, shed light on water management practices specific to banana crops and effective disease management strategies, empowering the farmers with tools to optimize their yield and combat potential challenges.

The training program witnessed active participation from 35 farmers who embraced the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in agriculture and water management techniques.

The ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra remains committed to empowering farmers with the latest agricultural practices, fostering sustainable farming, and contributing to the overall growth and prosperity of the agricultural community.

ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra Conducts Training Program on Nano Urea Usage in Tomato Crop

H.D. Kote, July 13, 2021: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra, located in Suttur, organized a comprehensive training program focused on the utilization of Nano Urea in tomato cultivation. The event took place in Maagudilu village, H.D. Kote Taluk, and witnessed active participation from 25 progressive farmers.

Dr. G.M. Vinay, Horticulture Scientist at JSS KVK, Suttur, delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the improved cultivation methods specific to tomato crops. Participants gained valuable insights into nutrition management, effective soil and water management techniques, and were made aware of Nano Urea, its usage, and the associated benefits. Dr. Vinay explained that the utilization of Nano Urea can potentially double farmers’ income, with 500 ml of Nano Urea being equivalent to 50 kg of traditional urea. He further advised farmers to mix 4 ml of Nano Urea in 1 liter of water and spray it on the crop 30 days after sowing. An additional application after 15 days would enhance the crop’s nitrogen uptake, resulting in expected yields.

Sri J.G. Rajanna, Soil Science Assistant, provided valuable information on improving soil health, equipping the participants with knowledge and techniques to enhance the productivity of their farming operations.

The training program was facilitated by Sri Nagaraj, and it offered a platform for farmers to exchange ideas, learn from experts, and enhance their understanding of the latest agricultural practices.
