The Awards, Annual Day Celebrations & Alumni Meet 2024 of the JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty was held in the divine presence of HH Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji on 30th April 2024. The chief guest for the event was Dr K Narayanasamy, Vice Chancellor, The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai. Dr. CG Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSSMVP, Mysuru, presided over the event. Dr. B .Suresh, Pro Chancellor, JSS AHER, Dr. K Madeshwaran, Chairman, Royalcare Super Speciality Hospital, Dr. M Geethanjali, Dean, Govt. Medical College, The Nilgris and Dr Gayathri Veeramani Jayaraman, Director- Marketing, Fourrts Laboratories Pvt. Ltd were the guests of honour.

The 16th Graduation Day Ceremony of JSS College for Women, Saraswathipuram was held on 29th April 2024 in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Smt. C Shikha IAS, Commissioner, Commercial Tax Department delivered the Graduate addresses and Dr C G Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSSMVP administered the oath to the graduates.

Suttur, April 25, 2024: Esteemed author Sri Hari Ravikumar delivered a captivating address on the pursuit of happiness through nature during the final day of the Personality Development camp organized for PG Medical students and Dental Interns. Held at Sri Sutturkshetra on April 24, the event provided invaluable insights into the enduring joy derived from the natural world.

In his enlightening discourse titled “Secret of Happiness,” Sri Hari Ravikumar eloquently expressed, “Supreme happiness is attainable only through our connection with nature. From towering mountains to flowing rivers, from the gentle warmth of the sun to the serene glow of the moon, every aspect of nature offers genuine reasons for human happiness.” He emphasized the fleeting nature of material possessions in contrast to the eternal bliss found in the embrace of nature. Sri Hari Ravikumar urged attendees to immerse themselves in nature’s splendor, advocating for a lifestyle enriched by its beauty and serenity.

Dr. M.V. Balasubramanya, Advisor at Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, echoed these sentiments, underlining the qualities of inspirational leadership. “A true leader possesses clarity, organization, and resilience,” remarked Dr. Balasubramanya. “They navigate both success and failure with equanimity, guiding their followers along the right path.”

Under the benevolent guidance of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the camp served as a platform for participants to share their experiences and happiness. Dr. Purushottam Shastry, Professor at JSS Medical College, presented a comprehensive report on the camp proceedings, while Dr. Manasa delivered an invocation to set the tone for the event. Dr. Vikrant Arora welcomed attendees and skillfully managed the program, ensuring its success. The valedictory program saw heartfelt expressions of joy from participants, including Dr. Deepsika, Dr. Darshan from JSS Medical College, and Dr. Glen Mathew, Dr. Sumukhi S. Rao from JSS Dental College.

Dr. Girish extended gratitude to all involved in making the camp a resounding success, acknowledging the participation of approximately 115 PG Medical students and Dental interns.

Suttur, April 24, 2024: Suttur recently became the vibrant hub for a two-day personality development camp aimed at students from the JSS PG Medical course and Dental interns. Organized under the auspices of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the event brought together over 115 participants for an enriching experience spanning spiritual, cultural, and educational dimensions.

The highlight of the event was a thought-provoking discourse by Sri Swami Mahamedanandaji of the Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, who articulated the timeless essence of Indian culture. Reflecting on the resilience and continuity of Indian civilization over millennia, he emphasized the cultural roots deeply intertwined with nature’s power.

Complementing this spiritual perspective, Smt. Dr. Veena S. Bhat, Gynaecologist at Nayana Hospital, Bhadravathi, shed light on contemporary healthcare challenges. Dr. Bhat underscored the importance of empathy and understanding in medical practice, urging students to cultivate qualities beyond clinical expertise.

The camp’s agenda was meticulously crafted to offer a diverse array of activities. From group prayers and yoga sessions to visits to temples and agricultural centers like the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, participants were immersed in a holistic experience. Guru, Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Mysore, emphasized the importance of confronting life’s challenges with self-confidence during his participation in a Personality Development camp. Held on April 21, the final day of the camp, the event was organized by Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math in collaboration with Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti and JSS Mahavidyapeetha, at Suttur. The camp catered to students of JSS Technical University.

In his insightful session titled ‘Facing Challenges,’ Dr. Guru highlighted the transformative impact of scientific discoveries on human life. He stressed that while technological advancements have made life easier, true progress is achieved when technology is harmonized with nature for the benefit of society. “Confronting challenges on this journey requires courage and the cultivation of a robust personality, self-confidence, ethical values, and practical experiences. Adaptability to life’s changes is paramount,” he advised.

Dr. B. Sadashivegowda, Principal of Vidyavardhaka College of Technical Education, Mysuru, emphasized the necessity of innovation for survival in today’s competitive world. He underscored the importance of creative thinking and efficiency improvement, citing examples of renowned global companies that have thrived through innovation. “Learning from failures and embracing change are essential for success in the dynamic landscape of today,” he remarked.

Blessed by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the camp concluded with a valedictory program where participants shared their enriching experiences. MBA students Kum. Chandshri presented the camp report, while Kum. Ramy and Nisha delivered an invocation. Kum. Priyaramesh facilitated the program, and Dr. Pradeep extended gratitude in the vote of thanks.

Chidanandagowda, former Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University, emphasized the unifying potential of Indian spirituality during his participation in a Personality Development camp. Organized by Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math in collaboration with Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti and JSS Mahavidyapeetha, the camp took place at Suttur from April 19 to 21, 2024.

In his enlightening session on ‘Indian Culture,’ Prof. Chidanandagowda highlighted the role of spirituality in comprehending life’s purpose and achieving holistic personality development. He emphasized that true knowledge stems from mastery over one’s senses and should be utilized for the betterment of society, transcending mere material pursuits. “In a society where peace and relationships are eroding, spiritual awakening is imperative for nurturing social, moral, and human values among students,” he asserted.

Dr. Harish Machaiah, Professor at the Department of PG in Business Management, SBRR Mahajana College, Mysuru, emphasized the importance of transforming life’s challenges into opportunities for success. He encouraged students to cultivate a global perspective, develop problem-solving skills, and hone their communication abilities to achieve clarity and effectiveness.

The camp, blessed by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, commenced with morning sessions of group prayers, yoga, and meditation, fostering spiritual growth among participants. Evening activities included traditional games, temple visits, and exploration of agricultural practices at Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

A prayer session held on the banks of Kapila river, followed by a cultural program, provided a spiritually enriching conclusion to the camp. A total of 162 students pursuing various courses at JSS Technical University actively participated in the event, demonstrating their commitment to personal and spiritual development.

Dr. Savitha Lakshman, Education Advisor from Mysuru, underscored the significance of emotional intelligence in shaping future leaders. She emphasized the impact of emotions on behavior and stressed the importance of cultivating qualities such as effective communication, mutual trust, respect, empathy, and forgiveness for fostering positive relationships in both professional and personal spheres.

Further contributing to the discourse, Dr. Lancy D’Souza, Professor at Maharaja College, Mysuru, addressed the adverse effects of excessive mobile phone usage on students’ mental health and academic performance. He advocated for responsible utilization of modern technology and provided insights on maintaining psychological well-being in the digital age.

Venkatesh, Founder CEO of Mysuru Profile.in, emphasized the significance of self-review for student growth during his participation in a personality development camp held for students of JSS Ayurveda, Speech and Hearing, and Nursing Colleges. The event took place at Sri Sutturkshetra from April 15 to 17, 2024.

Addressing the attendees on the theme of ‘Positive Attitude,’ Sri S.V. Venkatesh highlighted the importance of students recognizing their individual capabilities and strengths. He emphasized that leveraging these attributes effectively is key to achieving success. “A good student embodies self-confidence, intelligence, and hard work.
