Unity in Diversity is the Soul of Indian Culture: Dr. G. V. Manjunath

Suttur, April 28, 2026: Unity in diversity forms the essence of Indian culture, stated Dr. G. V.
Manjunath, Lecturer at Kotrenanjappa Pre-University College, Holalkere, while addressing students
at a camp organized at Suttur Srikshetra. The camp was organized by Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana
Mahasamsthana Math, Sri Shivaratreeshwara Religious Endowment, and JSS Mahavidyapeetha.
In his address, Dr. Manjunath emphasized that Indian culture is one of the richest and most
profound in the world, rooted in the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family).
He highlighted that music, literature, dance, and sculpture are integral parts of this cultural heritage
and stressed the responsibility of the present generation to preserve and pass on these values to
future generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. Dharmaprasad, Chief Executive Secretary, Conformatics Limited,
underlined that success is not achieved easily but requires patience, consistent effort, self-
confidence, and proper guidance. He also emphasized the importance of effective communication
skills and maintaining a stable and focused mind to achieve success in life.
The camp featured a series of spiritual, educational, and cultural activities. The day began with mass
prayers and yoga sessions, promoting discipline and well-being among the participants. Campers
later viewed an animated documentary on the Guru Parampara, gaining insights into the rich history
and legacy of the Sri Math.
Participants visited significant places including the Moola Math, Sri Someshwara Temple, Sri
Mahadeshwara’s ragi beesida kallu, and Sri Veerabhadreshwara Temple, where they received blessings.
They also attended demonstrations at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, learning about agricultural
practices, and gained knowledge about indigenous cattle breeds at the goshala.
In the evening, devotees gathered on the banks of the Kapila River for prayers and the Kapilarathi
ceremony, conducted with deep reverence. Shri N. Rajendra Prasad, the moderator, spoke about the
importance of rivers in sustaining life and culture.
The camp concluded with vibrant cultural performances by the students, including devotional
songs, folk songs, one-act plays, and traditional folk dances, showcasing the richness of Indian
heritage and talent among the youth.

Dr. G. V. Manjunath and Dr. M. Dharmaprasad delivered lectures on April 26 at a youth camp
organized under the joint auspices of Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthan Math, Sri
Shivaratreeshwara Religious Endowment and JSS Mahavidyapeetha at Suttur Srikshetra.

Campers participating in the Kapilarathi ceremony and presenting a cultural programme on
the evening of April 26 at the youth camp held at Suttur Srikshetra, organized jointly by the
Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Sri Shivaratreeshwara Religious
Endowment and JSS Mahavidyapeetha.

Free Mass Marriage Program in Suttur on May 11, 2026

Suttur, April 29, 2026: The Suttur Sri Veerasimhasana Samsthana Math will be conducting a free mass marriage program on May 11, 2026, Monday, with the divine blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

Since February 2009, the Samsthana Math has been conducting monthly free mass marriage programs, apart from the mass marriage program held during the Adijagadguru’s Jatra Mahotsav at Suttur Srikshetra.

This program aims to help couples who are economically challenged and cannot afford the expenses of a traditional wedding ceremony. Sri Haraguru Charamurthy will participate in the mass marriages held at Suttur Srikshetra and bless the couples.

The program is open to couples where the groom is above 21 years of age and the bride is above 18 years of age. Interested individuals can send applications along with photographs of the bride and groom, caste certificates, and certificate or school marks card copy as proof of age. Child marriages are strictly prohibited.

Suttur, April 25, 2024: Esteemed author Sri Hari Ravikumar delivered a captivating address on the pursuit of happiness through nature during the final day of the Personality Development camp organized for PG Medical students and Dental Interns. Held at Sri Sutturkshetra on April 24, the event provided invaluable insights into the enduring joy derived from the natural world.

In his enlightening discourse titled “Secret of Happiness,” Sri Hari Ravikumar eloquently expressed, “Supreme happiness is attainable only through our connection with nature. From towering mountains to flowing rivers, from the gentle warmth of the sun to the serene glow of the moon, every aspect of nature offers genuine reasons for human happiness.” He emphasized the fleeting nature of material possessions in contrast to the eternal bliss found in the embrace of nature. Sri Hari Ravikumar urged attendees to immerse themselves in nature’s splendor, advocating for a lifestyle enriched by its beauty and serenity.

Dr. M.V. Balasubramanya, Advisor at Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, echoed these sentiments, underlining the qualities of inspirational leadership. “A true leader possesses clarity, organization, and resilience,” remarked Dr. Balasubramanya. “They navigate both success and failure with equanimity, guiding their followers along the right path.”

Under the benevolent guidance of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the camp served as a platform for participants to share their experiences and happiness. Dr. Purushottam Shastry, Professor at JSS Medical College, presented a comprehensive report on the camp proceedings, while Dr. Manasa delivered an invocation to set the tone for the event. Dr. Vikrant Arora welcomed attendees and skillfully managed the program, ensuring its success. Suttur, April 24, 2024: Suttur recently became the vibrant hub for a two-day personality development camp aimed at students from the JSS PG Medical course and Dental interns. Organized under the auspices of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the event brought together over 115 participants for an enriching experience spanning spiritual, cultural, and educational dimensions.

The highlight of the event was a thought-provoking discourse by Sri Swami Mahamedanandaji of the Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, who articulated the timeless essence of Indian culture. Reflecting on the resilience and continuity of Indian civilization over millennia, he emphasized the cultural roots deeply intertwined with nature’s power.

Complementing this spiritual perspective, Smt. Dr. Veena S. Bhat, Gynaecologist at Nayana Hospital, Bhadravathi, shed light on contemporary healthcare challenges. Guru, Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Mysore, emphasized the importance of confronting life’s challenges with self-confidence during his participation in a Personality Development camp. Held on April 21, the final day of the camp, the event was organized by Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math in collaboration with Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti and JSS Mahavidyapeetha, at Suttur. The camp catered to students of JSS Technical University.

In his insightful session titled ‘Facing Challenges,’ Dr. Guru highlighted the transformative impact of scientific discoveries on human life. He stressed that while technological advancements have made life easier, true progress is achieved when technology is harmonized with nature for the benefit of society. “Confronting challenges on this journey requires courage and the cultivation of a robust personality, self-confidence, ethical values, and practical experiences. Adaptability to life’s changes is paramount,” he advised.

Dr. B. Sadashivegowda, Principal of Vidyavardhaka College of Technical Education, Mysuru, emphasized the necessity of innovation for survival in today’s competitive world. He underscored the importance of creative thinking and efficiency improvement, citing examples of renowned global companies that have thrived through innovation. “Learning from failures and embracing change are essential for success in the dynamic landscape of today,” he remarked.

Blessed by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the camp concluded with a valedictory program where participants shared their enriching experiences. MBA students Kum. Chandshri presented the camp report, while Kum. Ramy and Nisha delivered an invocation. Kum. Priyaramesh facilitated the program, and Dr. Pradeep extended gratitude in the vote of thanks.

A total of 162 students pursuing various courses at JSS Technical University actively participated in the camp, reflecting their dedication to personal and professional growth.
