Nuclear Teaching Workshop at JSS B.Ed. College, Suttur

A ‘Nuclear Teaching Workshop’ was organized at the JSS Educational University (B.Ed. College) in Suttur. Suttur, March 21, 2023: “Sensitive teaching skills are like guidelines to teach children. Teaching lessons will become successful only when it is accompanied with good skills” observed Dr. Mohan Kumar, Principal, NDRK College, Hassan.

He addressed the students after inaugurating an ‘Nuclear Teaching Workshop,’ held at the JSS Education University, in Suttur. He gave a demonstration on how to introduce lessons to the students.

In his introductory speech, Dr. H.M. Mahesh, Principal of the College expressed his view that the Nuclear Teaching is a toll to mould students as a full-fledged teacher. “Such workshops will are helpful for the students in learning effective teachings kills with techniques.”

Sri Kumar, Principal, Sujala Degree College, Hassan, and Assistant Professor of the College were present in the workshop. First and second year students utilized the benefits of the workshop.

The fifth convocation of JSS Science and Technology University was held on 20th March 2023 at the University campus.

Sadguru Sri Jaggi Vasudevji the founder of the Isha Foundation was the Chief guest. The event was graced by the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Coconut Field Day

Suttur, March 14, 2023: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Suttur, in association with the Coconut Development Board, Bengaluru, had organized a Coconut Field Day, at Haratale Village in Nanjangud Taluk.

Heggadanahalli Gram Panchayat Chairman Ratnamma presided over the program. Govindaraju, Member, Gram Panchayat, Haratale, Mallesh, former Chairman, Farmers Produce Association, Lokesh H.B., President, Hullalli Farmer Producers’ Organization, and member Raju took part in the program. JSS KVK scientists Dr. Vinay G.M. (Horticulture), Rajanna G.J. (Soil Science) and Dr. Prasad Y.P. (Plant Protection) also took part.

In the beginning Govindaraju explained the importance of agriculture and trainings conducted at JSS KVK and advised the farmers to utilize the facilities available. Dr. Vinay G.M. spoke about various varieties in coconut crop, specialities of mother coconut trees and intercropping.

Rajanna G.J., provided information about the integrated nutrition management in coconut crop and explained about the soil test. He also explained that through managing nutrition based on soil test, the health of coconut crop can be protect and it also helps in getting a good yield. By putting coconut crop waste to the soil, the carbon content in the soil can be increased, which helps in increasing soil fertility.

Farmer Producers’ Association member Raju advised the farmers to utilize the facilities available from the JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra. He explained how he received a good yield by utilizing light nutrients based on the information provided by the Horticulture scientists.

Dr.Prasad Y.P., Plant Protection Scientist explained about the various diseases that affect coconut crop and pests and its management.

Rajanna gave demo on integrated nutrition management. More than 50 farmers from Haratale village participated and utilized the benefits of the program.

Indian Culture is a symbol of harmony and coordination: Prof. Muzaffar H. Assadi

Mysuru, March 13, 2023: “To understand Indian culture properly, we should visit the places and study. Only then we can experience the rich culture of our country, and understand life. Indian culture is a symbol of harmony and coordination. We need to understand this in the proper way,” observed Prof. Muzaffar H. Assadi, Professor, University of Mysore.

He inaugurated the PG Department’s Cultural and Sports Forum at the JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru. In his inaugural address, he said, “Harmony, coordination, recognition and hunt for truth, these are the four important aspects in Indian culture. we should understand this by studying our culture and heritage. The Vachana writers and Vachana literature created a social and cultural revolution. Our culture is so rich that it identified the last person of the society and spread harmony. Through the Anubhava Mantapa, it hunted truth and experience. The Soofi and Dasa heritage are examples for this. Ours is not quarrelsome culture. Ours is discussions and interaction culture. We have been doing self retrospection and exploring the truth through interactions. In order to develop a secular mindset and have a big heart we should study Indian culture. I wish the students will study and understand our rich and special culture and shape their future in a proper way.”

R. Mugeshappa, Director, Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha presided over the program. In his address, he said, “like curriculum students should also develop interest in cultural and sports activities too. The cultural and sports forums have been doing good work by identifying talent and encouraging the students. Sports will develop self-confidence, diligence, concentration, discipline among the students. Students should reduce mobile phone usage. Watching sports and playing games in mobiles has increased these days. I advise you to stay away from it as far as possible and take part in cultural and sports activities,” he added.

She participated in the 15th Graduates’ Day program held at the JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, held in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

In her address, she advised the students to be always active and innovative. “Think about new innovations, stay away from negative thoughts. Let your thoughts always be positive. As students always think how and what you can contribute to our country, and places where you are staying. Be active and enthusiastic in whatever you do. Today technology has become essential. Students are spending a lot of time on it. However, misusing social media and internet has increased and in majority cases has turned into addiction. Work of the mind is mighty for human beings. Therefore, I advise the students to believe in yourself and improve your confidence and capabilities. Use social media and internet only as much as you want and be careful in using it,” she advised.

C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha gave the pledge to the new graduates. A total number of 1054 students including both UG and PG courses received their graduation certificates. Sixty five meritorious students were honored on the occasion. They were given mementoes and certificates. Ten students earned various endowment prizes.

15th Graduation Day

Mysuru, March 10, 2023: The JSS Autonomous College, Ooty Road, Mysuru, has organized the 15th Graduation Day program at the Suvarna Mahotsava auditorium in the college premises on 12.03.2023, Sunday at 11.03 am, in the divine presence of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

Smt. C. Shikha, Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Government of Karnataka will be the chief guest and address the students. Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Secretary JSS Mahavidyapeetha will preside.

A total number of 1054 graduates including 378 boys and 216 girls graduates and 154 boys and 306 girls postgraduate students will participate in the program and receive the certificates. Sixty-five meritorious students from various disciplines will be felicitated on the occasion.

Invitations have been sent to all the graduates, and all are requested to arrive at the college at 9.30 am and register their names.

Suttur, March 9, 2023: The JSS Institute of Education, Suttur, organized the ‘Introductory and Student Unions’ inaugural program.’

Sri S. Srikantaswamy, Director, Development Board, University of Mysore inaugurated the program. In his address, he said, the role of student unions is vital in the overall development of students. He released a wallpaper titled ‘GOPA’ published by students of the college. “Students should engage in areas of literature more. The GOPA paper brings out the creativity in the students,” he observed.

In his address, Sri Veerabhadraiah, Assistant Coordinating Officer, JSS Institutions, Suttur, explained the importance of discipline, and time sense, to the students and provided complete details about the Srikshetra Suttur and JSS Institution.

Dr. H.M. Mahesh, the Principal of the college presided over the program. He called upon the students to develop good skills through the students’ unions and emerge as good teachers and serve society in the future.

Success from discipline: Air Commdr. Bhupendra Singh Kanwar

It is a matter of pride to know all of you have identified as NCC cadets. NCC teaches you discipline. There is a special place for discipline in NCC. You can achieve success if you are disciplined,” observed Air Commodore Bhumpendra Singh Kanwar.

He participated in a live phone-in program organized by the VSM DDG Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate and JSS Radio 91.2 FM, held at the JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru. Air Commodore Bhupendra Singh Kanwar visited the College and participated as the resource person of the live phone-in program on the significance of NCC and interacted with the students. “Along with modern education, students should develop values of life. Messages of Indian philosophy are very relevant in today’s society. Important aspects like ethics-sense-lust-salvation are all interlinked. We should develop our thoughts, our actions, and lifestyle in such a way so that we can attain meaning in our life through ethics, win lust by sense, and salvation through love,” he said.

He received phone calls from students from several parts of the state and interacted with them. Prof. B.V.Sambashivaiah, Chie Executive of the College Complex felicitated him.

UGC Sponsored One-day National Level Seminar

Mysuru, March 6, 2023: The Postgraduate Department of Physics, JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, organized a UGC-sponsored one-day national level seminar on ‘Applications of Nanomaterials,’ on March 3, 2023.

Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College inaugurated the program, and addressed the gathering, and explained the importance and necessity of Nanotechnology. Prof. M. P. Vijayendra Kumar, Principal, was present.

Dr. R. Justin Joseyphus, Prof. & Head, NIT, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, and Dr. Asha Srinivasan, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Department of Nanoscience and Technology, JSSAHER, Mysuru, were the resource persons.

Dr. R Justin Joseyphus spoke on the “Fundamentals and Applications of Magnetic Nanoparticles”. He gave insights into Nanoscale Magnetic Properties, and their Biomedical and Recording Applications. He highlighted Nanotechnology as the future of data recording.

Dr. Asha Srinivasan spoke on the topic, “Nanotechnology-A Small Solution to Big Problems.” She enlightened the students about biomedical applications and the wide career opportunities in the field.

Ms. Supriya N.M. and Mr. Prashanth hosted the event. Miss Parvati and Shruti K. started the program by invocation.

A total number of 100 students, 20 research scholars, and faculties participated in the Seminar. The lecture program was followed by an interaction between the resource persons and participants. Ms. Shruthi D. delivered a vote of thanks.

Mysuru, March 03, 2023: “Sources of knowledge transforms according to context and need. Such transformation is a symbol of development,” observed M.K. Ravishankar, Deputy Manager (Retd.), BEML, Mysuru.

He inaugurated a one-day workshop held at the JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, held on March 2, 2023. In his address, he said, “the role of managing expenses plays a vital role in financial management. Aspects like inflow and outflow of money, investment and depreciation play a vital role in any financial decisions in a company. He gave several examples.

Presiding over the program, Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, said the economy, development and its background depends upon the budget. Income tax, goods and service tax are part of development. It is helpful for the increase in GDP of our country. Today’s annual budget will be helpful for further economical development.”
