Mysuru, March 13, 2023: “To understand Indian culture properly, we should visit the places and study. Only then we can experience the rich culture of our country, and understand life. Indian culture is a symbol of harmony and coordination. We need to understand this in the proper way,” observed Prof. Muzaffar H. Assadi, Professor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated the PG Department’s Cultural and Sports Forum at the JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru. In his inaugural address, he said, “Harmony, coordination, recognition and hunt for truth, these are the four important aspects in Indian culture. we should understand this by studying our culture and heritage. The Vachana writers and Vachana literature created a social and cultural revolution. Our culture is so rich that it identified the last person of the society and spread harmony. Through the Anubhava Mantapa, it hunted truth and experience. The Soofi and Dasa heritage are examples for this. Ours is not quarrelsome culture. Ours is discussions and interaction culture. We have been doing self retrospection and exploring the truth through interactions. In order to develop a secular mindset and have a big heart we should study Indian culture. I wish the students will study and understand our rich and special culture and shape their future in a proper way.”
R. Mugeshappa, Director, Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha presided over the program. In his address, he said, “like curriculum students should also develop interest in cultural and sports activities too. The cultural and sports forums have been doing good work by identifying talent and encouraging the students. Sports will develop self-confidence, diligence, concentration, discipline among the students. Students should reduce mobile phone usage. Watching sports and playing games in mobiles has increased these days. I advise you to stay away from it as far as possible and take part in cultural and sports activities,” he added.
