Two-Day Training Program Empowers CADA Farmers in Mysuru
Mysuru, February 28, 2024: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, in collaboration with the Command Area Development Authority (CADA), successfully organized a comprehensive two-day training program aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of farmers within the CADA limits. The event took place at Suttur on February 27 and 28, drawing participation from approximately 35 enthusiastic farmers representing Nanjangud,
T. Narasipura, and H.D. Kote taluk areas, particularly those under the Kabini reservoir region.
The training program, meticulously curated by the experts at ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, focused on pivotal aspects of agricultural practices, including soil and water management techniques, handling alkaline and silty soil conditions, advanced crop methods suitable for catchment areas, exploration of alternative crops, seed treatment methods, and essential aspects of kitchen gardening and animal husbandry.
Shri Shamraj, a distinguished Cultivation Scientist from JSS KVK, captivated the audience with insightful sessions on catchment area agricultural crop management, offering practical strategies for optimizing yields in challenging terrains.
Adding to the enriching experience, Shri Pradeep, Assistant Agriculture Director at CADA, shared invaluable insights into the operational dynamics of Water Users’ Cooperative Society, shedding light on its pivotal role in facilitating sustainable agricultural practices and water resource management.
The event served as a significant platform for knowledge exchange and capacity building, empowering the participating farmers with the latest techniques and best practices in agriculture.
