Two-Day Training Program Empowers CADA Farmers in Mysuru

Mysuru, February 28, 2024: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, in collaboration with the Command Area Development Authority (CADA), successfully organized a comprehensive two-day training program aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of farmers within the CADA limits. The event took place at Suttur on February 27 and 28, drawing participation from approximately 35 enthusiastic farmers representing Nanjangud, T. Narasipura, and H.D. Kote taluk areas, particularly those under the Kabini reservoir region.

The training program, meticulously curated by the experts at ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, focused on pivotal aspects of agricultural practices, including soil and water management techniques, handling alkaline and silty soil conditions, advanced crop methods suitable for catchment areas, exploration of alternative crops, seed treatment methods, and essential aspects of kitchen gardening and animal husbandry.

Shri Shamraj, a distinguished Cultivation Scientist from JSS KVK, captivated the audience with insightful sessions on catchment area agricultural crop management, offering practical strategies for optimizing yields in challenging terrains.

Adding to the enriching experience, Shri Pradeep, Assistant Agriculture Director at CADA, shared invaluable insights into the operational dynamics of Water Users’ Cooperative Society, shedding light on its pivotal role in facilitating sustainable agricultural practices and water resource management.

The event served as a significant platform for knowledge exchange and capacity building, empowering the participating farmers with the latest techniques and best practices in agriculture. Through collaborative efforts, ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra and CADA reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the farming community and fostering agricultural sustainability in the region.

JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science Achieves 2nd Place in Mysuru City Inter-College Ball Badminton Competition

Mysuru, February 28, 2024: The boys’ team from JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science has secured an impressive 2nd place in the Mysuru City Inter-College Ball Badminton competition for the 2023-2024 academic year. The tournament, hosted by the University of Mysore at the Sports Pavilion in Mysuru City on February 27, 2024, showcased outstanding talent from colleges across the region.

Led by their skillful performances and teamwork, the boys’ team demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship throughout the tournament, earning praise and recognition from their college’s leadership and faculty. Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, Prof. T.V. Latha, Principal (Incharge), Shri M. Karthik, Physical Education Director, Shri C.S. The event, held on February 15, 2024, was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Shri S.K. Pandu, Deputy Director of the School Education Department, Mysuru District, and Shri Ashad Ur Rahman, Commissioner of Mysore City Corporation, who honored the occasion as chief guests.

Addressing the gathering, Shri S.K. Pandu emphasized the importance of quality education and cultural values imparted by the institution, urging students to leverage the blessings of their esteemed mentors and parents to navigate the path to success.
