Jeevnotsaha Shibira from May 11 to 15 at B.R. Hills

Suttur, April 30, 2022: The Jagadguru Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Suttur, in association with the JSS Mahavidyapeetha and Sri Shivaratheeshwara Dharmika Datti, has organized a ‘Jeevnotsaha Shibira’ (Life Enrichment camp) at Biligiriranga hills, from May 11 to 15 for public.

The camp will be conducted under the divine presence and noble guidance of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji and Pujya Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji of the Jnanayogashrama, Vijayapura.

Mass prayers, yoga, special discourses, chintana-manthana, desi games and cultural programs will be held daily during the camp.

His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji visits ‘Statue of Equality’ (Ramanuja Statue) in Hyderabad

His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji visited the Statue of Equality (Ramanuja Statue) at Muchintal, Hyderabad. His Holiness Swamiji interacted with HH Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, who proposed the inception of the Statue of Bhagawad Ramanujacharya to propagate the concept of equality.

The Statue of Equality is a sculpture dedicated to Ramanujacharya, an 11th-century Vaishnava saint, who promoted the equality of all. It is a Panchaloha statue and the second-largest sitting statue in the world.

ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra Organizes ‘Namma Raitha Paaludaara Adhyate’ Program in Suttur

Suttur, April 26, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra in collaboration with the ATMA program, Agriculture Department, Mysuru, successfully conducted the ‘Namma Raitha Paaludaara Adhyate’ (Kisan Bhaagidaari Prathamika Hamari) program. This event, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, was held as part of the 75th Independence Day celebrations.

The program was inaugurated by Smt. Mahadevamma, President of Biligere Gram Panchayat, Nanjangud Taluk. Distinguished guests including Sri T.V. Subbaiah, NABARD District Development Manager, Mysuru District, Sri V. Veerabhadraiah, Assistant Coordinating Officer, JSS Institutions, Smt. Kumuda, Deputy Planning Director of the ATMA program, Agriculture Department, Mysuru District, Sri Manjunath Angadi, and Smt. H.V. Divya, Heads of the ICAR JSS KVK, graced the occasion.

During the event, Union Agriculture Minister Sri Narendra Singh Tomar addressed the audience through a live online program, providing valuable information about the government’s initiatives for the development of farmers.

Additionally, three exceptional individuals were felicitated for their outstanding contributions in the field of agriculture. Sri Shankarguru, a progressive farmer and paddy varieties conserver from Madralli Village, T. Narasipur Taluk, Sri Jayashankar, an Apiculturist from Hediyala Village, Nanjangud Taluk, and Sri Rohit, a progressive farmer specializing in coconut farming from Jayapura Village, Mysuru Taluk, were honored on this auspicious occasion.

To promote the diversity of agricultural produce, an exhibition and sale of value-added food items prepared using various millets and organic products were organized at the venue. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 300 farmers.

The ‘Namma Raitha Paaludaara Adhyate’ program proved to be an insightful platform for farmers to exchange knowledge, explore innovative practices, and celebrate their invaluable contributions to the agricultural sector.

Ms. Nagashree S. Receives the Young Ethnopharmacologist Award – 2022

Mysuru, April 25, 2022: Ms. Nagashree S., a dedicated Research Scholar from JSS Research Foundation and JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science in Mysuru, has been honored with the prestigious Young Ethnopharmacologist Award (P. K. Debnath Memorial Award) – 2022. Her remarkable achievement has brought immense pride to the institution.

The award was presented to Ms. Nagashree S. during the 9th International Congress of the Society for Ethnopharmacology, India (SFEC-2022) held at JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, Karnataka, from April 22-24, 2022.

The event witnessed an impressive gathering of over 2000 delegates. Among them, approximately 560 delegates showcased their research work through posters, while 131 delegates presented their research orally. Among the 131 presentations, only 30 were nominated for the highly competitive Young Ethnopharmacologist Award Competition-2022.

Ms. Nagashree S. emerged as the winner in the competition, securing the first place for her outstanding research work titled “Lutein Oxidized Products Regulate Lipid Metabolizing Enzymes in High Fat Diet-Induced C57BL6 Obese Mice and Suppresses Lipid Accumulation by Downregulating TGFβ1 and p38MAPK in 3T3L1 Preadipocytes”.

Ms. Nagashree S. is currently pursuing her PhD under the guidance of Dr. Chethan Kumar M., showcasing her dedication and passion for advancing the field of ethnopharmacology.

Sri Suttur Math and JSS MVP to conduct four camps in 2022

Suttur, April 19, 2022: The Jagadguru Veerasimhasana Mahasamshana Math, Suttur, under the auspices of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha and Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti, has organized four different camps from May 5, 2022, to May 29, 2022. All these camps will be conducted in the divine presence and guidance of His Holiness Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji and Poojya Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji of Jnanayogashrama, Vijayapura.

While the Jeevanotsaaha camps will be held for the public at Suttur Srikshetra, Biligiriranga Hills, and Ooty, a spiritual camp will be held for the spiritual enthusiasts at the Suttur Srikshetra.

Mass prayers, yoga, special discourses, interactive chintana-mantana on religion, desi games, and cultural programs will be held every day during the camps.

JSS College gets 13th Rank out of 871 autonomous colleges of the country

Mysuru, April 19, 2022: The JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science College, Ooty Road, Mysuru, has been accorded 13th rank in a survey conducted by the Education World, Grand Jury India Higher Education Rankings for the year 2022-23.

The JSS College, Mysuru has earned 13th Rank out of the 871 autonomous colleges in the state-level and 72rank at the national-level.

Certificates distributed for tailoring trainees

Certificates were distributed to the trainees who successfuly completed the four-month duration tailoring training program.

Suttur, April 12, 2022: The JSS Janashikshana Samsthe, in association with the ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Suttur, and the Punyabhoomi Trust had organized a tailoring training program for unemployed rural girls. Certificates were distributed to the trainees who completed the training successfully, at a program held at the Pillahalli Village, in Mysuru Taluk, on April 12, 2022.

Twenty women of the Pillahalli Village completed the four-month tailoring training program. Smt. Shashikala D.M., Director, JSS Janashikshana Samsthe, Smt. Divya H.V., Head (In-charge), JSS KVK, Suttur, Smt. Netravathi Yettinamani, Home Scientist, JSS KVK, Lions Club members Sri Achyuth Rao, Sri Manjunath, Sri Chandrashekar, Bharatiya Kisan Sangha District Secretary Sri Satyamurthy, and Sri Manjunath, of the RSS Service Division, Pillahalli Village leaders Sri Ramachandra, Sri Ningappa, Sri Nanjundaswamy, and trainer Smt. Nagamma, JSS Janashikshana Samsthe staff members Kum. Suma C.S., Kum. Sujatha and Girish were present in the program.

Training completion certificates were distributed to all the beneficiaries.
