Suttur, April 23, 2024: Prof. K. Chidanandagowda, former Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University, emphasized the unifying potential of Indian spirituality during his participation in a Personality Development camp. Organized by Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math in collaboration with Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti and JSS Mahavidyapeetha, the camp took place at Suttur from April 19 to 21, 2024.

In his enlightening session on ‘Indian Culture,’ Prof. Chidanandagowda highlighted the role of spirituality in comprehending life’s purpose and achieving holistic personality development. He emphasized that true knowledge stems from mastery over one’s senses and should be utilized for the betterment of society, transcending mere material pursuits. “In a society where peace and relationships are eroding, spiritual awakening is imperative for nurturing social, moral, and human values among students,” he asserted.

Dr. Harish Machaiah, Professor at the Department of PG in Business Management, SBRR Mahajana College, Mysuru, emphasized the importance of transforming life’s challenges into opportunities for success. He encouraged students to cultivate a global perspective, develop problem-solving skills, and hone their communication abilities to achieve clarity and effectiveness.

The camp, blessed by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, commenced with morning sessions of group prayers, yoga, and meditation, fostering spiritual growth among participants. Evening activities included traditional games, temple visits, and exploration of agricultural practices at Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

A prayer session held on the banks of Kapila river, followed by a cultural program, provided a spiritually enriching conclusion to the camp. A total of 162 students pursuing various courses at JSS Technical University actively participated in the event, demonstrating their commitment to personal and spiritual development.
