Rajyotsava award winner and renowned litterateur Prof. M. Krishnegowda delivered a lecture on the topic, ‘Festival of Lights.’ “A human being should keep all his senses under control, it is not enough if our eyes are wide open, we should observe keenly, it is not enough we keep open our ears, we should listen properly, we should see all that is good and enjoy. We should keep our tongue in control, we should assess what is right and what is wrong before talking. The mind of a human being has mighty power, we should utilize it in the right way. Every person will have an internal mind, and we should understand it. Today children can see the entire world sitting in one place through various media platforms. It is difficult to bring light. However, it is easy to set anything on fire. Efforts should be made to extract the knowledge in children. Teachers should not limit themselves just to lessons, they should look beyond and teach new and inspiring things to the students. A person will grow devotional when he or she comes to a pilgrim center. We can find peace of mind when going to the temples,” he said. He enthralled the children with his jokes.
All the temples and shrines were decorated with attractive lights drawing the attraction and appreciation of the visitors. Fireworks were also exhibited.
