Suttur, December 5, 2022: The JSS Higher Primary School has bagged the overall sports prize in the JSS Inter-Institutional Sports Meet, held from November 28-30, 2022, at Suttur, in commemoration of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, by winning highest number of prizes.
Boys: Ambarish – 600 m running (2nd place); Karan (3rd place); Tarun K. – 400 m (1st place); Pavan Kumar – 200 m and 100 m running (2nd); Yashwanth – High Jump (1st), discuss throw (1st), Nikhil – long jump (2nd), discuss throw (3rd), 4×100 m relay (1st place).
Group event: In Kabaddi the students of the school secured first place. Rohibth emerged as the ‘Best Player.’
In Boys category, Yashwanth emerged as the Individual Champion by securing 13 points. The Boys of the school also won the overall sports prize by securing a total number of 43 points.
Girls: Ranjitha – 600 m running (1st place); Deepika (2nd); Sakshi – 200 m and 100 m (1st); Ayesha – shot put (3rd place); Tanmayi – Discuss throw (3rd); Reshma – High Jump (3rd place); Deepika – Long jump (1st), 4×100 m relay (1st place).
The girls also secured 2nd place in group sports event. Sakshi emerged as the Individual Champion by securing 10 points.
The Girls won overall sports prize by securing an overall points of 37. The school students also secured 3rd place in Parade.

Suttur, December 5, 2022: The JSS High School, Suttur, has earned the overall prize at the three-day JSS Inter-Institutions Sports Meet, conduced in commemoration of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, by bagging highest number of prizes.
Boys: Vinay T.S. 100 m running (1st place), 200 m running (2nd place); Basavaraju M.C. 1500 m running (2nd); Rohith B.S. Discuss throw (3rd place), 4×100 m relay (1st place).
Group games: The students of the JSS High School, Suttur secured the first place in Kho-Kho. Prakash was declared as the ‘Best Player.’
Girls: Rachanashri, Long Jump (1st place), 100 m running, 200 m running (2nd place); Meghana 400 m running (2nd), Tanushri 800 m running (3rd place). Hakmanmi, high jump (2nd place), discuss throw (2nd), Javelin throw (3rd place), 4×100 m relay (1st place).
Also the students of the school secured first place in Kho-Kho under group sports and third place in throwball.

Chemistry Experiments Demonstration at JSS Residential School, Suttur
Suttur, December 5, 2022: The JSS Residential School in Suttur, in collaboration with the Bhramara Trust, Mysuru, organized an engaging chemistry experiments demonstration for its students.
The program was inaugurated by esteemed guest Prof. K.S. Rangappa, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore. In his address, Prof. Rangappa emphasized the importance of inquisitiveness and encouraged students to develop the skill of asking questions to enhance their knowledge.
Distinguished speakers, Prof. Uday Maitra and Smita Maitra from the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, conducted a series of captivating chemistry experiments. The demonstrations included chemiluminescence, thermochromism, igniting fire through the absorption of magnesium oxygen from solid carbon dioxide, and experiments showcasing deuterium’s heavier properties compared to water, among others.
The program was presided over by Smt. Madhuri Tatachari. Prominent attendees included coordinating officer Sri G.L. Tripurantaka, Headmasters Sri G. Shivamallu, Sri M.G. Basavanna, Smt. C.P. Nirmala, dedicated teachers, and enthusiastic students.
The chemistry experiments demonstration not only provided an interactive platform for students to explore the fascinating world of chemistry but also sparked their curiosity and ignited a passion for scientific inquiry.

Suttur, December 2, 2022: The following students have bagged individual and team prizes in the 3-day JSS Inter-Institutions Sports Meet, held at Sri Suttur Srikshetra, in commemoration of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji.
Athletics:
Primary School Division: Individual prizes – Under the Boys and Girls category, Yashwanth D.A. and Kum. Sakshi of the JSS Higher Primary School, Suttur, bagged the individual prizes by scoring 13 and 10 points respectively.
Team prize: In the Boys category the students of the JSS Higher Primary School, Suttur, scored 43 points and the Girls scored 37 points and bagged the prize.
High School Division:
Individual prizes: In the Boys category Bhuvan M.N., a student of the JSS High School, Mooganuru scored 15 points and in the Girls category Kum. Amulya P. scored 15 points and won the prize.
Team Prize: Under the Boys category the JSS High School, Suttur boys scored 20 points and the girls category scored 35 points.
Pre-University College Division;
Individual Prizes: In the Boys category, Mahesh A.J. of the JSS PU College, Doddakadanuru scored 10 points and Kum. Pooja of the JSS Women’s PU College, Chamarajanagara scored 10 points and won the prizes.
Team Prize: JSS PU College, Doddakadanuru – While the Boys scored 17 points, the girls scored 29 points and won the prize.
Degree College Division:
Individual Prize: In the Men’s category, Subranil Mandal, a student of the JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, scored 08 points and in the Women’s category Kum. Tanjan Choyi, a student of the JSS Law College, Mysuru scored 08 points and earned individual prizes.
Team Prize: The JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, Men’s category scored 26 points and in the Women’s category, the JSS Law College, Mysuru, and JSS Women’s College, Saraswathipuram, Mysuru scored 16 points each and shared the prize.

Winners of the parade: Under the Primary School category, the JSS School Hullahalli secured first place. Under High School category, the JSS High School, Horeyala, secured first place. Likewise, under the PU division, the JSS Women’s College, Yalandur won first place and in the Degree College division, the JSS Science and Technical University secured the first place.

Sri Suttur math devotee organizes special ‘prasada’ program for Suttur JSS Residential school students

Special cash prizes for farmers
Suttur, December 1, 2022: The Smt. Sundaramma Duggahatti Veerbhadrappa Pratishtana, of the Duggahatti Village, in Yalandur Taluk, Chamarajanagar District, has announced to provide special cash prizes for farmers to encourage men and women farmers of Mysuru and Chamarajangara Districts.
One male and female farmer who has received a maximum yield will be recognized, and prizes will be given. The different categories are as follows: Nanjangud Taluk (Paddy), Yalandur Taluk (Banana), Kollegal Taluk (Sugarcane), Hanur Taluk (Maize), Chamarajanagara Taluk (Tomato) and Gundlupet Taluk (Beans/ Vegetable crops).

Mental Health Acknowledged as Equally Important as Physical Health by Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah
Mysuru, December 1, 2022: Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science located on Ooty Road, Mysuru, emphasized the significance of mental health in today’s fast-paced world. Participating in a workshop titled “Awareness on Mental Health” organized by the Clinical Psychology Department of JSS Medical College Hospital, Prof. Sambashivaiah addressed the first-year degree students of JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science. He stressed the importance of giving equal importance to mental health as physical health, particularly in an era dominated by advanced technology and a hectic lifestyle.
During the workshop, Prof. Sambashivaiah highlighted that while physical disorders are often noticeable, mental health issues can go unnoticed for a longer period of time. He encouraged everyone to cultivate positive thoughts, adopt a disciplined lifestyle, and develop a positive mindset to safeguard against mental health problems.
Dr. Manoj K. Pandey, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology, emphasized the need for awareness regarding the maintenance of good mental health, particularly among today’s youth.
Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar, Principal of JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, was also present at the workshop. The event commenced with an invocation by Kum. Sahana, and Dr. Prakash facilitated the program.
Following the stage program, various sessions were conducted on different topics. Smt. Sangeetha, Research Associate at JSS Medical College, shed light on the characteristics of depression and anxiety, providing solutions to overcome them.
Smt. Nityashree spoke about stress management, elucidating various stress management techniques. Sri P.K. Sudeep, Assistant Professor at JSS Medical College, discussed anger management, covering different forms of anger, associated problems, and coping strategies for staying calm.
Smt. Chitra, a Research Associate, addressed the topic of addiction and methods of prevention, highlighting various types of addictions and ways to steer clear of them. Sri Subramanya Bhat emphasized the connection between yoga and mental health, demonstrating how yoga practices can contribute to maintaining good mental well-being.
Dr. Manoj K. Pandey spoke about suicides and their prevention, explaining the underlying reasons for suicide with examples and offering insights on overcoming such challenges.
Sri Ritwik S. Kashyap, Assistant Professor in the Clinical Psychology Department, served as the workshop’s convenor.
The workshop witnessed the participation of more than 800 students.

Narayana Gowda, emphasized the equal treatment of wins and losses in sports during his speech at the inauguration of the JSS Inter-Institutions Sports meet. The three-day event, organized by the JSS Mahavidyapeetha in honor of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, commenced with the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji on Monday.
In his address, Minister K.C. Narayana Gowda commended the JSS Mahavidyapeetha for its efforts in promoting sports among students and nurturing their overall development. He emphasized the need to prioritize mental health alongside physical well-being in this era of advanced technology and fast-paced lifestyles. The minister encouraged students to cultivate positive mindsets, disciplined lifestyles, and good thoughts to prevent mental health issues.
Presiding over the workshop, MLA Dr. Yateendra Siddaramaiah recognized the significance of the event for the students’ physical and mental development. He highlighted the role of sports in fostering leadership qualities and extended his congratulations and best wishes to all participants.

Heads of various maths including Neelakantaswami math, Kuduru, Vatalu, Maadhalli, Bettadapura maths and officers of various departments of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha and others are seen in the picture.
Suttur, November 28, 2022: Rudrabhisheka, Ashottattara, Praakarotsava, and special pujas were held at the shrines of His Holiness Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji and His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, today early in the morning, as part of the 36th death anniversary of Sri Rajendra Mahaswamji, in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.
Bhoomi puja of all the mandapas, auditorium, cultural programs, and the Jatara Mahotsav dasoha programs was also conducted as part of the His Holiness Adijagadguru Sri Shivaratheeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswami’s Jatra Mahotsav, which will be held from January 18 to 23, at the Suttur Srikshetra.
Jatra preparatory meeting: The preparatory meeting of conveners of various Jatra Mahotsav committees, leaders of the surrounding villages, and villagers was held. Heads of various maths, including the Vatalu, Bettadapura, Chikkatuppuru, Maadahalli, Kuderu, Chucnchahalli, Naviluru, Nanjangud, Ragibommanahalli maths and Haraguru Charamurthy, officers of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha, and devotees were present.
While Sri Subbappa welcomed, Sri H.L. Prakash was the compere of the program. He also gave a vote of thanks. Earlier, the program commenced with an invocation by the students of the JSS School, Suttur.
