Mysuru, October 19, 2022: The JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science (Autonomous), Ooty Road, Mysuru, has announced the results of the Undergraduate IV & VI semester (Freshers & Repeaters) and II Semester (Repeaters) exams, held in September/October 2022.
The results are available in the college website http://www.jsscacs.edu.in or www.result.jsscacs.edu.in. Last date to apply for re-totaling and Photocopy is 22.10.2022, and last date to apply for revaluation is 28.10.2022.
Suttur, October 17, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Suttur arranged for a live online telecast of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sammelan on October 17, 2022, alongside organizing a program to commemorate World Food Day.
As part of the event, a millets cooking competition took place, with Smt. N. Jamuna Urs, a retired Home Scientist from ICAR JSS KVK, serving as the judge and chief guest. Smt. Urs shed light on this year’s theme for World Food Day, “Leave No One Behind.” She emphasized the need to address malnutrition and encouraged participants to strive for better nutrition and prevent food wastage.
Expressing her delight at the significant participation of women, Smt. Rajamma Madappa, the President of Biligere Gram Panchayat, encouraged women to make the most of the program and its offerings.
Smt. H.V. Divya, Senior Scientist and Head (Incharge) of ICAR JSS KVK, translated the address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the PM Kisan Sammelan. She highlighted the utilization of nano urea and the government’s initiatives to double farmers’ income, urging participants to take advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Atma Nirbhar Bharath scheme.
Sri Gangappa Hipparagi, the KVK Farm Manager, emphasized the importance of learning about nutritious food preparation and consumption.
Twelve women participated in the Millets Food Competition, which coincided with the celebration of World Food Day and International Millets Year 2023. The participants showcased their culinary skills by preparing a variety of millet-based dishes such as Ragi noodles, Kodo millet Kajjaya, Little millet Nippattu, Chakkuli, Foxtail millet Upma, and Ragi laddu.
Smt. Ratnamma Hosakote secured the first place, followed by Smt. Madhuri M. in second place and Smt. Sudha Hadinaru in third place. The winners of the millet food competition received well-deserved prizes.
The event saw the participation of Smt. Bhagya, Dharmastala Rural Development Program Officer, Self Help Group women, Daan Foundation SHG women, students from NOIDA University, and JSS KVK staff members. Dr. Vinay G.M., the Horticulture Scientist at JSS KVK, extended a warm welcome, and Smt. Netravathi Ettinamani skillfully managed the program.
Suttur, October 17, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Suttur organized a training and demonstration program on the ‘Drone Usage in Agriculture’ at its premises, providing valuable insights for farmers from nearby villages.
Sri Munish, the Chief Executive Officer of Multiplex Company, conducted a detailed session on the usage and benefits of drones in agricultural activities. He showcased the practical application of drones by demonstrating the spraying of nano urea over the paddy fields at the JSS KVK campus.
Explaining the capabilities of these drones, Sri Munish highlighted their ability to cover up to 50 acres in a single day, with each acre taking just 10 minutes to spray 140 ml of medicine. The use of nanotechnology in spraying ensures maximum effectiveness on the crops. Weighing approximately 14 kilograms, the drones carry a 10-liter tank of medicine, bringing the total weight to 25 kilograms. Guided by GPS directions, the drones can efficiently cover the targeted crop area.
Smt. H.V. Divya, the Senior Scientist and Incharge Head of JSS KVK, along with Sri Shamraj (Cultivation Scientist), Sri Vinay (Horticulture), and Sri J.G. Rajanna (Program Assistant – Soil Science), were present during the demonstration. They assured the farmers of their continued support in providing technical information and drone services.
The 2001-03 batch alumni of the JSS TC College, Suttur, had organized a ‘Guruvandana’ program. Heads of various departments of the College, teachers, and old students are seen in the picture.
Suttur, October 15, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra marked the National Women Farmers Day by organizing a program at its premises in Suttur, Nanjangud Taluk, aimed at raising awareness about the crucial role and participation of women farmers in agriculture.
The event included the felicitation of Smt. Mahalakshmi Prabhakar, a progressive farmer from B.C. Halli Village, Bannur Hobli, T. Narasipura Taluk. Smt. Mahalakshmi, who has been involved in dairy farming for 18 years, shared her success story and emphasized the potential for women farmers to become self-reliant through dairy farming. She highlighted her own achievements, including owning 18 cows and producing 160 to 180 liters of milk daily.
Sri D.T. Venkatesh, a Financial Literacy expert from SBI, provided insights into various life insurance schemes offered by the Government of India, such as the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. He encouraged women farmers to obtain E-Shram cards to access additional benefits.

She emphasized the empowerment of women and the objective of encouraging more women to actively engage in agricultural activities.
The program witnessed the participation of over 45 women farmers, including progressive farmers Madappa and Basavanna from Ayarahalli Village, Narayan from Bannuru, as well as women members of the Kalmahalli, Jeemarahalli, Sonahalli Villages Milk Producers’ Cooperative Societies, and members of the Dhaan Foundation.
Mysuru, October 14, 2022: The JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, located on Ooty Road, Mysuru, joined hands with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, to organize an insightful webinar on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).” The virtual event took place on October 13, 2022, utilizing the Cisco-Webex platform. Prof. BV Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the college, presided over the program, and Prof. MP Vijayendra Kumar, Principal, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The highlight of the webinar was the presence of Shri Shubham Harsh Singh, Examiner of Patents and Designs at the Patent Office in Kolkata, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Shri Singh, serving as the chief guest and main speaker, began the session with a warm welcome note.
During the webinar, Shri Singh delivered an in-depth presentation on various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, encompassing patent applications, designs, trademarks, copyrights, and SICLD (Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Layout Design). He provided comprehensive insights into different types of IPR and guided participants on filing patent applications in India. He also elaborated on the necessary forms to be filled and shed light on the associated fee structure.
In addition, Shri Singh shared a video presentation offering valuable insights into Geographical Indications in India. The webinar proved to be highly informative, effectively raising awareness about IPR among the students.
Following the presentation, an interactive session was conducted, allowing students to engage with the resource person and seek clarifications on various aspects of IPR.
Approximately 200 individuals, including postgraduate students and faculty members, actively participated in the webinar, making it a resounding success.
Mysuru, October 12, 2022: Sri A.H. Sagar, an esteemed International Education Expert from Scotland’s University College in London and Edinburgh, stressed the significance of students developing a mindset for research and honing their learning skills and confidence in order to achieve success and secure job opportunities. Sri Sagar also emphasized the importance of understanding verbal and nonverbal communication, protocols, and behavioral etiquette among students.
Sri Sagar participated as a resource person at the ‘Students Skill Development and Training Program’ organized by the JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, located on Ooty Road, Mysuru, under the auspices of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). During his address, he highlighted the need for educational institutions to impart leadership qualities and entrepreneurial skills to students. Sri Sagar encouraged students to develop decision-making abilities based on moral ethics and societal impact.
The resource person delivered a talk on the topic, “Importance of Research Mindset and Essential Skills for Postgraduate Students in the 21st Century.” Sri Sagar emphasized that research and confidence contribute to improving the quality of teaching. He underscored the value of nurturing students’ critical thinking abilities, engaging them in practical activities, promoting group discussions, encouraging creativity through studies, leveraging visual media, and employing other effective teaching tools. Sri Sagar also noted that teachers bear the responsibility of guiding students to understand the significance of both failures and outcomes.
The training program witnessed active participation from over three hundred students representing various postgraduate departments of the college. Additionally, more than one hundred teachers from the institution attended the event.
Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the college, presided over the program, while Principal Prof. M.P. Vijayendrakumar graced the occasion with his presence.

Suttur, October 10, 2022: The Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Jatra Mahotsav 2023 will be held at Suttur, from January 18 to 23.
The jatra mahotsav was limited to just pooja programs from the last two years due to COVID-19 Pandemic. However, this year all the programs and activities, including utsavs, melas, competitions and cultural programs will be organized as usual.
Heads of various maths, dignitaries and leaders will participate in the programs. All the arrangements including prasada, accommodation, etc., will be made.
All the devotees and public are requested to take part in the jatra mahtosav and receive the blessings of the almighty.
