Vaccination a strong weapon to prevent Coronavirus

Kollegal, July 7, 2021: “Getting vaccinated is the only weapon to get rid of the deadly Coronavirus,” opined Dr. Nagendra, Taluk Medical Officer, Kollegal.

He inaugurated the COVID-19 vaccination camp organized at the JSS Women’s College in Kollegal on July 6. In his address, he said that if the fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic should become successful the vaccination campaign should become successful. “Everyone should have trust about science and the efforts of our scientists in developing the vaccine in such a short time. We all should create awareness among our relatives, friends, and neighbors and convince them to get the vaccine,” he said.

In his presidential address, Prof. Umesh, Principal, JSS Women’s College, Kollegal expressed his view that our country cannot become COVID-19 Pandemic free until the virus is wiped out of this world. “If the pandemic continues to prevail in poor and developed nations, it will enter our country too. The Government of India has taken a significant step to stop the pandemic by assuring to provide vaccination to all the people of the country free of cost. Though the second wave of the pandemic has slowed down we should be careful. Everyone should compulsorily wear a mask, and maintain social distance and follow all the guidelines strictly,” he added.

More than 100 students of the college got vaccinated on the occasion. Lecturers, Smt. Smitha, Smt. Mamatha, Smt. Bhramaramba, Smt. Vani and the vaccination staff were present.
