Admission is offered to 8th, 9th and 10th classes on first come first served basis. The academic year starts in the last week of May every year.
Extra-curricular activities are an integral part of the curriculum. Arts, science, and sports clubs are formed to encourage the students to bring out their hidden talents.
Art, Literacy and Cultural Club- Students from all classes interested in art and literature are chosen to form this club. The club organises and conducts numerous cultural activities throughout the year. It conducts an inter-music competition every year in memory of HH Dr Sri Rajendra Mahaswamiji. The club also brings out a school magazine titled “Vyjayanthi” annually.
Science Club (Taranga)- This club was formed to develop a scientific attitude among students. Experts are invited to speak on various topics of science. Science exhibition is organised every year in which students participate enthusiastically. Students are taken to scientific organisations.
We have adequate sports materials and training is given to the students in sports like volleyball, throw ball and Kho-Kho. Competitions are conducted on “Sports Day”.
Students are guided to face competitive exams such as NTSE, NMMS, General Knowledge, Vachana Kammata, Sirigannada exam, Karnataka Pratibha Academy, Chinthana Vignana etc. Ten students of our school were selected for N.M.M.S (National Means Cum Merit Scholarship) conducted by D.S.E.R.T during 2011-12. The selected students would continuously receive Rs. 500/- for four years.

About JSS High School, Lakshmipuram
This was the first school established by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamiji at Mysuru. He was awakened by the thought that “Ignorance is the root cause of all evils in the society” and perceived that only education could eliminate such evils from society. Keeping in mind this motive, he started this high school in the year 1954. Initially, the school was functioning in Kyathanahalli Sahukar Siddalingaiah’s Sanskrit Patashala with a strength of only 24 students.
His Highness Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar, the erstwhile King of Mysuru appreciated the efforts of HH Rajendra Mahaswamiji and provided land for a nominal value in Ramanuja Road (Ane Karahatti), Mysuru. With the help of some noble people of the region, HH Rajendra Mahaswamiji bought the land and constructed a new building. In 1963, the classes were shifted to this new building. With each passing year, the student’s strength increased, and English medium was also included.
In the year 1986, the classes moved to the present campus in Lakshmipuram. The school has been at the forefront of fulfilling the educational needs of the students coming from different backgrounds of society. In the year 2004, the school celebrated its Golden Jubilee. For all these years, our school has produced many talented students who have achieved big in their life and has made us proud.
