JSS Girls High School, Chamarajanagara
- Admission is offered only to girl students to the 8th,9th and 10th classes based on Govt. of Karnataka guidelines.
- Both Kannada and English medium classes are available.
- The academic year begins in the last week of May.
- Building – School has its own building with 12 spacious rooms.
- Library- The School Library is well stocked with about 3200 books related to Literature, Science, Encyclopedia, Dictionary, General Knowledge, etc. The students and also teachers take benefit of it during School hours.
- Laboratory- The School has a well equipped Laboratory with modern equipments. Students can view Telescope & LCD Projector in the Lab. We have a separate computer lab having 13 computers.
- Indoor Sports: Chess, carom, Desi games are encouraged.
- Other facilities: Pure drinking water is supplied. Separate Toilets for Girls, Ladies and Gents staff are available.
- Midday Meal: Midday meal is provided to every student on a regular basis.
- Bicycles are provided to every 8th std students as per instructions of Government of Karnataka.
Extracurricular activities are given equal importance on par with academics. Arts, music, dance, drama, and sports are encouraged. Here, national, and other days of importance are celebrated in full swing. Students participate in intra-school and inter-school competitions, Pratibha Karanji and in competitions organised as a part of Suttur Jatra Mahotsav. Indoor and outdoor sporting materials are available, and students are trained in games like volleyball, throw ball, kho-kho etc.
Every year, a medical check-up is conducted for the students. Class wise Parents – Teachers Meeting are organised. We also provide coaching for NMMS and NTSE examinations. Science and art exhibitions are conducted annually.

About Us
His Holiness Jagadguru Dr Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamiji established a high school in the year 1957 with a view to empowering the economically and educationally backward Chamarajanagar district. In its formative years, the school was a co-educational school. It was later bifurcated into boys’ and girls’ schools in 1986.
Our school aims at the overall growth of students by promoting personality development rather than mere academic achievements. We inculcate social, spiritual, and ethical values in them and help them take the right step. The school also provides the necessary facilities required for the development of the students.
The school has 12 spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, a library with more than 3000 books, a well-equipped science lab and computer lab, sporting materials and other basic amenities. Apart from these, mid-meals are served to the students daily. Bicycles are provided to all the students of 8th standard as per the Karnataka Government’s scheme.
Lectures by resource persons are also organised at regular intervals. With the blessings of His Holiness, the school is progressing well on the academic front. For the past several years the pass percentage for SSLC has been around 90%.
