Extra-curricular activities are a vital part of school life. These activities help the students broaden their skills and knowledge beyond academics. Here children are involved in arts, crafts, creative art competitions, debates, writing, sports, and games etc. We train students in volleyball, throw ball and kho-kho. Physical exercises are conducted to make the students physically and mentally fit.
The school periodically organizes seminars and workshops, which give good exposure to the students to gain knowledge of various subjects. Educational tours are organized regularly.
- Our girls team won 2nd prize in the Taluk level Ball Badminton Competition Organized by the State Education Board.
- Our students Won 1st Prize in Maths(Geometrical Shapes) and Science (Vitamins) Models in the science exhibition held at the Sutturu Jathra Mahotsava in the year 2022-23.

The JSS High School, Devalapura was established in 1984 at the foothills of Chamundi Hills, Mysuru. At the time of its inception, there was a minimum number of students and the number increased year after year. A few years after the establishment of the school, it was shifted to Nanjangud Road and again to Devalapura village after some years.
Devalapura village is 10 km away from Mysuru, where education was a dream for many students of the region then. The people were even deprived of basic amenities. Though the school faced certain problems in the initial stage, the cooperation of villagers and the dedication of teachers helped the school to earn a good reputation. Today, JSSMVP runs a high school and a pre-university college at Devalapura.
The school has well-ventilated classrooms with smart class technology, a well-stocked library, a spacious playground, a science laboratory, and a computer lab. The hostel facility is also available for the students.
