JSS High School, Metikuppe, H. D. Kote Taluk, Mysuru
The school has eight spacious, well-equipped and well-ventilated classrooms. Out of the total three acres land, plants are being grown in one acre. The remaining land is utilized for the school building, playground, toilets, and drinking water facilities. The school premises has a stage adjacent to it and a compound.
The school has a library and a computer lab. Students are given computer education for three days in a week. There are a volleyball, kho-kho and throw ball court. Four periods in every week are dedicated to sporting activities. The school has sports materials related to throwball, volleyball, cricket, rings, high jump, long jump, badminton, carrom, etc. The school has a well-equipped science lab, which is regularly updated.
Details of Sports Activities
- We have school level boys & girls sports teams.
- Sports activities are organized on the occasion of Independence Day and Teacher’s day.
- Students participate in High School Sports meet held at Taluk Level and also take part in sports events held at Suttur during annual Jatra Mahotsava.
- Inter-class sports competitions are organized.
- Boys are trained and encouraged to participate in volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, cricket and throwball.
- Girls take part in sports like throwball, kho-kho, shuttle badminton, and ball badminton.
- Sports competitions are also held as a part of annual day celebrations.

About Us
For a long time, high Schooling was a distant dream to the villagers of Metikuppe in Heggada Devana Kote. The villagers approached His Holiness Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji when he had come to lay the foundation stone for the Netkal Basveshwara Temple, located inside the forest nearby. The villagers brought to his notice the problems faced by their children due to the absence of a high school within a radius of 10 km radius from Metikuppe. His Holiness responded positively to the request and opened a high school in Metikuppe. M. N. Basavarajappa, a leader of Metikuppe village was instrumental in setting up of JSS High School in Metikuppe.
At present, the school has a strength of around 200 students. It is located on its own land of 3 acres.
The school has a dedicated team of faculty with a strength of eight members and focuses on the all-round development of students.
