The JSS High School, Suttur, bagged the Overall Prize in the JSS Inter-Institutions Cultural Mela, held as part of the Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji Jatra Mahotsav, held at Suttur, for the 21st time. The Head Master and trainers are seen with the students in the picture.
Mysuru, January 25, 2023: The JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, organized a program as part of the National Voters’ Day, on January 25, 2023.
Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar, Principal of the College, welcomed the guests and the students and explained the significance of National Voters Day.
Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah presided over the program and administered the oath to the students.
Smt. R.G. Asha, HoD, Dept. of Political Science, gave a vote of thanks. Students and teaching and non-teaching staff of the college participated.
Students from various JSS institutions participated in the Cultural fest organised at Sutturu Jathra Mahotsava 2023 and secured prizes.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of the various competitions held at the six-day Suttur Jathra Mahothsava. The prizes were handed over by Sri Eshwar Bheemanna Khandre, MLA of Bhalki constituency and Sri BL Santhosh, National Organisational General Secretary, BJP in the divine presence of HH Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri Basavaraja Bommai, inaugurated the Wrestling competition at Suttur Jathra Mahotsava on 22nd Jan 2023 in the divine presence of HH Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Sri R. Ashok, Minister of Revenue, Sri K Sudhakar, Minister of Medical Education and Health and others were also present during the event.
Indigenous Games and Drawing competition were inaugurated by Sri Siddaramaiah, Leader of Opposition. The Kite Competition was inaugurated by Dr HC Mahadevappa, Former MLA in the divine presence of HH Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Padmashri Dr Manjamma Jogathi was also present.
The Minister of State for Agriculture, Kum. Shobha Karandlaje, emphasized the potential of millet exports during her address at the inauguration of the Agriculture Seminar on the significance of millets, held at the Sutturu Jathra Mahotsava. She highlighted the increased budget allocation of Rs. 1.32 lakh crores by Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi for agriculture, with a specific focus on the development of agriculture production units through the Krishi Vikas Yojana. The Minister further encouraged farmers to collaborate in establishing production centers and seize the opportunity to export quality millets and millet-based products to meet the growing demand in the international market.
The auspicious event was inaugurated in the divine presence of HH Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Dignitaries including Sri G.T Deve Gowda, MLA of Chamundeshwari; Sri HR Ranganath, Chief of Public TV; Sri Honnur Prakash, Progressive Farmer; and Sri MN Dinesh Kumar, shared their insights on the subject. The esteemed presence of Jagadguru Sri Niranjanananda Puri Mahaswamiji of Sri Kanaka Guru Peetha, Kaginele, and Sri Shadaksharimuni Deshikendra Swamiji added grace to the occasion.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the nutritional and health benefits of millets while exploring their export potential. The global recognition of the health benefits associated with millets presents a lucrative opportunity for farmers to contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector and capitalize on international demand.
Thousands of people gathered at the Suttur Jatra Mahotsava to witness Rathotsava (chariot festival). Sri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar, Royal scion of the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru flagged off the chariot festival in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Around 38 folk groups including Kamsale, Puja Kunitha, Huli Kunitha and others took part in the procession.
