“Farmers should consider the export of millets to foreign countries,” says Shobha Karandlaje

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Kum. Shobha Karandlaje, emphasized the potential of millet exports during her address at the inauguration of the Agriculture Seminar on the significance of millets, held at the Sutturu Jathra Mahotsava. She highlighted the increased budget allocation of Rs. 1.32 lakh crores by Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi for agriculture, with a specific focus on the development of agriculture production units through the Krishi Vikas Yojana. The Minister further encouraged farmers to collaborate in establishing production centers and seize the opportunity to export quality millets and millet-based products to meet the growing demand in the international market.

The auspicious event was inaugurated in the divine presence of HH Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Dignitaries including Sri G.T Deve Gowda, MLA of Chamundeshwari; Sri HR Ranganath, Chief of Public TV; Sri Honnur Prakash, Progressive Farmer; and Sri MN Dinesh Kumar, shared their insights on the subject. The esteemed presence of Jagadguru Sri Niranjanananda Puri Mahaswamiji of Sri Kanaka Guru Peetha, Kaginele, and Sri Shadaksharimuni Deshikendra Swamiji added grace to the occasion.

The seminar aimed to shed light on the nutritional and health benefits of millets while exploring their export potential. The global recognition of the health benefits associated with millets presents a lucrative opportunity for farmers to contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector and capitalize on international demand.
