Richness by heart is Indian culture

Mysuru, September 14, 2022: “Indian culture is excellent, that is full of richness by heart,” observed His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

He participated in the Satsang program organized by the Veerashaiva Samaja, held in Boston, USA, on September 13.

In his blessings, His Holiness said, “Indian culture is that which doesn’t have any beginning or ending and a culture that loves everybody in the world. During the independence struggle, Mahatma Gandhiji called for a non-violent struggle. He inspired everyone to struggle without using any weapon. Thus, he proved that we could achieve anything in this world through peace and non-violence. Indians have the strength to win hearts of others. Even today, we can see wars in this world to extend dynasties. Likewise, a war will also be going in our souls against the problems of our lives. If we want to overcome all those problems, we should follow spirituality. We can attain eternal peace through prayers. Prayers gives us inner peace. Human beings should develop a habit of accepting both failures and successes equally. We should learn how to live happily with whatever we have. God is both inside and outside our souls. When we understand it, it helps us to achieve something good,” he said.

He participated in the Satsang program organized by the Basava International Corporation, held in New York, USA on September 11.

India is a country that is spiritually and culturally rich. Our rishis and saints and visionaries enriched them. We have to pass on this knowledge to the next generation. It is indeed happy to see though people have migrated to a foreign land, they have continued to love their culture and heritage and are striving to further develop it. God has gifted us the strength to think. We should use it and try to solve all the problems in our lives. We face several confusions in our lives. We should balance them and continue our journey. Nijaguna Shivayogi taught us to balance both worldly and spiritual aspects and lead our lives. Shankaracharya taught us whatever work we do we should consider it a service to god. Only then our service will be called selfless.”

He participated in the Satsang program organized by the Veerashaiva Samaja, held in New Jersey, America on September 10.

A man works to be happy and lead a comfortable life. Everyone will aspire to it. Likewise, everyone will get both problems and happiness. Internal happiness is more important than external happiness. You can get internal happiness through prayers, meditation, offering pooja, and involvement in devotion. Human beings can find real happiness when they become introverts. It is a matter of pride to say that our rishis and saints had understood the universal truths of the world. Indians gained knowledge of several scientific truths through their divine powers. Everyone should purify their souls and keep them constant, and involve in work. You should work without expecting results. Such people can attain success. Everyone should involve in spiritual achievement

He addressed the Satsang program held at Memphis in Tennessee, USA, on September 3. “People from several parts of India have come here for jobs and are striving to spread the Indian culture and tradition here. With the efforts of all these noble-minded souls, our culture and tradition are gaining strength here. They are all making efforts to enrich the Indian culture and values. Hindu religion embraces everything and everyone. Hindu religion has given the world the all-time truth ‘Sarve Janaha Sukhinobhavantu’ (Let everyone live happily). An individual can make spiritual achievements only when his life is clean. We should always remember god and dedicate time daily for meditation and pooja along with other activities. The inner life is also important like physical life. We should focus our minds on the inner aim. It is appreciable to note that temples are being established in the USA, along with undertaking other works like renovation. establishing goshalas, etc. All these are symbols of Indian heritage.
