Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji’s 107th Jayanti Mahotsav and Teachers’ Day Celebrations Held at JSS School, Suttur

Suttur, September 25, 2022: The JSS Educational Institution in Suttur organized a special program to commemorate the 107th Jayanti Mahotsav of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji and to celebrate Teachers’ Day.

During the event, Gurukar Sri Puttabuddhi, Executive Engineer (Retd.), highlighted the remarkable achievements of Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, drawing from his own experiences during his student days. He emphasized His Holiness’s qualities of humanity, simplicity, kindness, and vision. Gurukar Sri Puttabuddhi acknowledged the significant contributions made by Dr. Mahaswamiji in providing quality education to rural areas of Mysuru District and other parts of Karnataka. The establishment of free student hostels has enabled thousands of underprivileged youth to access education and pursue successful careers.

Chief Guest Sri M.C. Shashidhar, Chief Engineer (Retd.), paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher and visionary who introduced Indian culture and traditions to the world. Sri Shashidhar emphasized the strength of teachers, citing Dr. Radhakrishnan’s exemplary life and dedication to public service, including his contributions of three-quarters of his monthly salary to various government programs.

The occasion was graced by Sri Parashivamurthyswamiji of the Sri Mahanteshwara Pattada Math, who delivered his blessings and shared insights into Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji’s early responsibilities and guidance of the math. Sri Parashivamurthyswamiji highlighted Dr. Rajendra Mahaswamiji’s commitment to social services such as Anna (food), Akshara (education), and Arogya (healthcare), earning him the title “Trividadasohi.” The present pontiff, Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, has successfully carried forward the works of his predecessors, embodying the qualities of Dr. Rajendra Swamiji.

Sri S.P. Udayashankar, Administrative Officer of JSS Educational Institutions, Suttur, presided over the program, while Sri M. Rajashekar, Assistant Professor at JSS D.L.Ed. College, administered the oath to the students.

The program also featured the distribution of prizes to winners of devotional and light music singing competitions and sports events held as part of the celebrations. Meritorious SSLC students were felicitated, and Kum. Sushmita M. Yadahalli, who secured the highest marks, received a cash prize from the Deenabandu Trust, Chamarajanagara.

Heads of various departments from the JSS Educational Institution, Suttur, along with other dignitaries, graced the occasion.

The program commenced with an invocation by B.Ed. students, followed by a warm welcome by Sri K.V. Yogesh. Sri G.N. Manjunath delivered the vote of thanks, and Smt. Ambika skillfully managed the program.
