ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra and Rotary Mysuru Celebrate World Environment Day

Suttur, June 6, 2022:  The ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra, Suttur, in collaboration with Rotary Mysuru, organized a program to commemorate World Environment Day.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals including Smt. Divya, In-charge Head and Senior Scientist of JSS KVK, Senior Scientist Manjunath Angadi, and scientists Dr. Vinay G.M., Gangappa Hipparagi, Rajanna, Shamraj, Netravati, Dr. Raskhit, Sundarraju, along with the staff members. Srinidhimurthy from Rotary Mysuru, accompanied by other staff members, also graced the occasion.

As part of the program, saplings of various fruit varieties were planted, contributing to the environmental cause. Furthermore, 500 horticultural and fruit plants were distributed to farmers free of cost, aiming to raise awareness about environmental conservation.

During the event, Smt. Divya provided insights into the diverse programs initiated by JSS KVK for environmental protection. Gangappa Hipparagi highlighted the significance of environmental conservation, while Srinidmurthy from Rotary Mysuru elaborated on the various programs undertaken for environment preservation.

The program concluded with heartfelt appreciation from the participating farmers, acknowledging the valuable efforts of JSS KVK in implementing impactful programs for the benefit of the environment.

World Environment Day at JSS Residential School, Suttur

The JSS Residential School, Suttur, had organized a program on the occasion of ‘World Environment Day.’ Parents of the students studying in the school planted saplings as part of the program. JSS Residential School, Suttur, Conducts Preparatory Mass Yoga Session on World Yoga Day

Suttur Srikshetra: In commemoration of World Yoga Day, the JSS Residential School in Suttur organized a preparatory mass yoga practice session, attended by hundreds of students. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals including Sri Shivakumaraswamy, Secretary of JSS MVP, Sri S.P. Udayashankar, Administrative Officer of JSS Educational Institutions, members of the Nanjangud and Mysuru Patanjali Yogashikshana Committee, and Heads of various departments of the JSS Residential School.

The students actively participated in the yoga session, showcasing their enthusiasm for this ancient practice that promotes physical and mental well-being. The preparatory session aimed to familiarize the students with different yoga asanas and cultivate a deeper understanding of the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Pratham Poshan Raise Awareness on the Importance of Greens and Vegetables

Suttur, June 2, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Suttur, in collaboration with Pratham Poshan, Mysuru, organized a ‘Kitchen and Community Gardening Training’ program in Muttatti Village, T. Narasipur Taluk. The aim was to create awareness among the villagers about the significance of incorporating greens, vegetables, and fruits into their diets, and the associated benefits for immune system development.

During the program, Sri Manjunath Angadi, Senior Scientist at JSS KVK, emphasized the importance of including greens and vegetables in daily meals and maintaining kitchen gardens. He also provided insights into the various activities undertaken by JSS KVK.

Smt. Netravati Yettinamani, Home Scientist at JSS KVK, shed light on the diverse advantages of consuming greens, fruits, and vegetables. She also shared methods for incorporating them into food preparations.

Sri Ashwini Ranjan, Founder of Pratham Poshan, Smt. Shashi Ranjan, Sri C.R. Hanumantarao, and Smt. Ratna Rajaiah, Coordinating Officers of Pratham Poshan, also addressed the participants.

At the conclusion of the training program, seeds of various vegetables, greens, fruits, and medicinal plants were distributed to the participants. They were encouraged to cultivate these plants for personal use.

Over 50 individuals, including Pratham Poshan staff, Primary School staff, and Anganwadi center staff from Muttati Village, actively participated in the program, demonstrating their commitment to incorporating healthier dietary practices.
