Suttur, June 6, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Suttur, had organized a program on the occasion of the ‘World Environment Day’ in association with the Rotary Mysuru.

JSS KVK In-charge Head and Senior Scientist Smt. Divya, Senior Scientist Manjunath Angadi and scientists Dr. Vinay G.M., Gangappa Hipparagi, Rajanna, Shamraj, Netravati, Dr. Raskhit, Sundarraju, and staff members were present. Srinidmurthy of the Rotary Mysuru, along with other staff members were also present.

Saplings of various fruit varieties were planted as part of the program, and 500 various horticultural and fruit plants were distributed to the farmers free of cost, to create environmental awareness.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Divya provided information on the various programs of the JSS KVK for the protection of the environment. Gangappa Hipparagi, spoke about the importance of environmental conservation. Srinidmurthy of the Rotary Mysuru explained the various programs undertaken for environment conservation.

The program concluded with a note of appreciation by the participant farmers for the various programs undertaken by the JSS KVK.

The JSS Residential School, Suttur, had organized a program on the occasion of ‘World Environment Day.’ Parents of the students studying in the school planted saplings as part of the program. Sri Shivakumaraswamy, Secretary, JSS MVP, Sri S.P. Udayashankar, Administrative Officer, JSS Educational Institutions, members of the Patanjali Yogashikshana Committee and students and parents are seen in the picture.

Suttur Srikshetra: Hundreds of students of the JSS Residential School in Suttur took part in the preparatory mass yoga practice session held as part of the ‘World Yoga Day’. Sri Shivakumaraswamy, Secretary, JSS MVP, Sri S.P. Udayashankar, Administrative Officer, JSS Educational Institutions, members of the Nanjangud and Mysuru Patanjali Yogashikshana Committee and Heads of various departments of the JSS Residential School were present.

Suttur, June 2, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Suttur, in association with the Pratham Poshan, Mysuru, had organized a ‘Kitchen and Community Gardening Training’ program at the Muttatti Village in T. Narasipur Taluk, to create awareness among the villagers about the importance of consumption of greens, vegetables and fruits, and its immunity building benefits.

Sri Manjunath Angadi, Senior Scientist, JSS KVK, spoke about the importance of including greens and vegetables in the daily diet and maintaining a kitchen garden. He also provided information about the various activities of the JSS KVK.

Smt. Netravati Yettinamani, Home Scientist, JSS KVK, explained the various benefits of greens, fruits, and vegetables. She also explained the methods of its usage in preparing food.

Sri Ashwini Ranjan, Founder, Pratham Poshan, Smt. Shashi Ranjan, Sri C.R. Hanumantarao and Smt. Ratna Rajaiah, Coordinating Officers of Pratham Poshan also spoke.

Seeds of various vegetables, greens and fruits, and medicinal plants were distributed to the participants after the training program. The participants were advised to grow vegetables and greens for personal usage.

More than 50 people, including the staff members of Pratham Poshan, staff of the Primary School, and the Anganwadi center of Muttati village participated in the program.
