Sri Suttur Math and JSS Mahavidyapeetha donate Rs. 5 lakh to Mysuru Zoo

Mysuru, May 13, 2020: In response to the challenging circumstances faced by the Chamarajendra Zoological Garden in Mysuru due to the ongoing lockdown and decreased revenue, Sri Suttur Math in association with JSS Mahavidyapeetha has extended their support by donating a generous sum of Rs. 5.00 lakh on May 8, 2020. The cheque was handed over by Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji through Minister Sri Jagadish Shettar, Sri S.T. Somashekar, and Sri Byrathi Basavaraj to Sri B.P. It is worth noting that Sri Suttur Math has consistently contributed Rs. 1 lakh every year on August 29, during the auspicious occasion of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji’s Jayanthi celebrations, for the maintenance of animals in the Chamarajendra Zoological Garden.

The donation ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Sri Pratap Simha, Mysuru MP, MLAs Sri S. A. Ramadas, Sri G.T. Devegowda, and Sri Harshawardhan. “JSS Hospital Expert Provides Reassurance: Don’t Panic, Just Be Cautious About Corona”

Kollegal, March 14, 2020: The global outbreak of the novel coronavirus, known as the Corona epidemic, has instilled fear among people worldwide. However, there is no need to panic; instead, we must exercise caution,” stated Dr. Bharath T. from JSS Hospital, Mysuru.

Dr. Bharath was addressing the audience at the ‘Corona Virus Prevention Awareness’ program organized by the Youth Red Cross Unit of JSS Women’s College in Kollegal.

He advised, “If you experience symptoms of the Corona virus, please visit the nearest health center for examination and seek treatment promptly. Avoid attending public gatherings such as fairs and wedding functions. Only venture outside your home when necessary. Frequent handwashing and maintaining personal hygiene are essential. Refrain from touching your face, nose, mouth, eyes, or ears without washing your hands. Additionally, ensure cleanliness in your household and surroundings.”

Dr. Tanuja Ken expressed her opinion, stating, “As the weather conditions in our country are unfavorable for the Corona virus, there is no need to be scared. However, since the virus can survive on surfaces for up to one day, we must exercise extreme caution and follow precautionary measures. Although any type of face mask can prevent virus transmission, it should be changed every six hours.”

Dr. Mohammed Khasim, Dr. Samaan Saaja, Dr. M. Prabhu, and other medical professionals were also present at the event.
