Mysuru Citizen’s Forum contributes grocery kits to the Orchestra Association members of Mysuru District

The Mysuru Citizen’s Forum, headed by His Holiness Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji contributed grocery kits to the members of the Orchestra Association of Mysuru District, who were severely affected by COVID-19 lockdown. Around 100 members of the association were benefited from it. Mahaswamiji distributed the kits at Sri Suttur Math, in Mysuru. Sri C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, Sri R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education, JSS MVP were present.

Grocery kits distributed to Journalists

The Mysore Citizen’s Forum, headed by His Holiness Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji donated grocery kits to the journalists of various media houses, in Mysuru, who have been doing their duty even during the COVID crisis, irrespective of their health risks. The kits were distributed to 80 journalists residing in Mysuru, at the Sri Suttur Mutt, in Mysuru, on July 25, 2020. Kits will also be provided to 400 journalists residing in different taluks of Mysuru District by the respective representatives.

On this occasion, Sri Jaya Rajendra, Sri R. Mahesh, Medical Education Director, JSS MVP, Sri S.K. Mahendra, President, Sri M. Subanna, Vice-President and Sri K.G. Lokesh, Secretary, Mysuru District Journalists Association were present.

Distributed grocery kits to 650 families of Artists

The Sri Suttur Math, in association with AKKA-Kaveri Kannada Sangha, USA, and Sri Devraj Moolchand Charitable Trust donated grocery kits to 650 families of artists, musicians, priests etc., who were severely affected by COVID-19 lockdown. His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji distributed the kits at the Suttur Math, in Mysuru, June 6, 2020.

World Environment Day at JSS School, Suttur

Saplings were planted as part of the ‘World Environment Day’, in the presence of Heads of various departments of the JSS Institution, Suttur. Sri Chandru, who has rendered service in the Horticulture Department, JSS MVP, for more than two decades was felicitated on the occasion, identifying his service for environment conservation.

‘World Environment Day’ celebrations held at JSS College

Mysuru, June 5, 2020: The ‘World Environment Day’ was observed at the JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, on June 5, 2020, at 1.00 pm. Sri N.M. Shivashankarappa, Director, Horticulture Department, JSS MVP was the chief guest. He inaugurated the programme by symbolically planting a sapling. Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, CEO, JSS College, Dr. H.C. Honnappa, Principal, Sri Somashkear, Principal, JSS PU College were present. All the teaching and non-teaching staff took part.

World Environment Day at ICAR JSS KVK

Suttur, June 5, 2020: “If we protect environment it protects us. Man has been exploiting nature for his personal benefits and destroying it. Hence, mother nature has become angry. As a result of this natural calamities and diseases like the Corona pandemic are increasing day by day. Floods, drought, hurricanes, and diseases have increased the sufferings of human beings. Therefore, we, as part of this nature should try to protect the environment right from today, we should dedicate some time for it. Our step should be towards conservation of the environment.

The ‘World Environment Day’ was observed on June 5, 2020, at the ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra by planting a sapling symbolically. Sri Shivashankarappa, Director, Horticulture Department JSS MVP, Sri S. Satish, In-charge Head and Senior Scientist and all other scientists, staff members of KVK and farmers from surrounding villages took part in the programme.

Drumstick, curry leaves plants and face masks were distributed to all the farmers who attended the KVK Agriclinic, and awareness was also created among them about environment conservation and preventing Corona, on this occasion.

Sri M.N. Shivashankarappa, Director, Horticulture Department, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru, planting a sapling along with the farmers, in the ICAR JSS KVK premises in Suttur; and distributing drumstick and curry leaves saplings.

Grocery kits distributed to Srikanteshwara temple staff

The members of Mysore Citizens Forum distributed 300 grocery kits to the staff of Srikanteshwara temple, in Nanjangud, who were affected by the lockdown. The kits were handed over by Prof. S.P. Manjunath, Secretary-I, JSSMVP in the temple premises.

MCF continues the good work

The Mysuru Citizens’ Forum (MCF), headed by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswami, distributed grocery kits to 500 autorickshaw drivers who were affected by the lockdown. The kits were distributed by His Holiness, at Nanjangud on May 18, 2020.

Second round distribution of food grains kits by MCF

Mysuru, May 13, 2020: The Mysore Citizens Forum (MCF) distributed food grain kits to the people who are in trouble due to the lockdown, including pourakarmikas, tongawallahs, members of poor families, on May 8, 2020, in the Suttur Srimath premises, at the foothills of Chamundi in Mysuru, in the divine presence of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Ministers in the Government of Karnataka Sri Jagadish Shettar, Sri S.T. Somashekar and Sri Byrathi Basavaraj distributed the kits symbolically.

Foodgrains kits were distributed to 2,500 households this time, which were given to a few family members symbolically. The kits have been handed over to the Mysuru City Corporation to be distributed later. The MCC will identify the genuine beneficiaries and distribute it. Each food grains kit contains 5 kilos of rice, 1 kg pulses, 1 kg sugar, 1 kg edible oil, 1 kg salt, and 1 kg tea powder.

Mysuru MP Sri Pratap Simha, MLAs Sri S.A. Ramadas, Sri G.T. Devegowda, Sri Harshawardhan, Mayor Smt. Tasneem, Deputy Mayor Sri C. Sreedhar, Commissioner Sri Gurudath Hegde, former Minister Sri A.H. Vishwanath, R. Vasudevabhat, Dr. Balasubramanya, Sri Narendra, Smt. Rashmi Koti of MCF and officials of JSS MVP were present on the occasion.

Similarly, MCF had also distributed foodgrain kits to 3,000 households on April, 7, Tuesday, during Covid-19 lockdown period. Apart from this, earlier MCF, with the support and help of citizens of Mysuru and the State Government had extended help to the victims of natural disasters like earthquake, tsunami, and floods that took place in Bujh, Gujarat, Mudaliyarkuppam in Pondicherry, North Karnataka districts, Madikeri, etc.
