Shravanamasa pooja and valedictory of discourse and 106th Jayanthi Mahotsav of HH Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji

Mysuru, September 6, 2021: Shravanamasa Poojanusthaana and valedictory of the discourse program and a program on the occasion of the 106th Jayanthi Mahotsav of HH Paramapujya Jagadguuru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji has been organized on September 7, 2021, at 6.00 pm at the Suttur Math branch in Mysuru, in the divine presence of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.
 
Dr. B.V. Vasanthkumar, Dr. C.G. Ushadevi, Dr. M. Krishnegowda, and Dr. K. Anantaramu will participate in the valedictory function. Prizes will be distributed to eligible essays presented by participating in the online and offline discourses.

Special pooja at Suttur on Sept. 7

Suttur, September 7, 2021: Special poojas will be held at the Shrine of HH Paramapujya Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, in Suttur, as part of the 106th Janathi celebrations, on September 7, 2021, Amavasya day. All the devotees who come to the shrine are asked to strictly follow COVID precautionary measures.

Report of Workshop on Leadership Skills

A workshop on “Leadership Skills” was conducted by JSS School of Nursing in Mysuru on August 30, 2021, at Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Bhavana. The workshop aimed to enhance the leadership skills, improve communication and interpersonal skills, and facilitate overall personality development of the 3rd-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) students. Effective leadership strategies were also emphasized during the workshop.

The workshop commenced with an invocation song, followed by the inauguration ceremony by the dignitaries present on the dais. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Jagananath K. Dange, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Studies and Research in Education at Kuvempu University, Shimoga. Mrs. D.N. Renukadevi, the Principal, delivered the inaugural keynote address, highlighting the importance of the workshop in fostering an impressive personality and developing leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. She emphasized that these skills are crucial for students to be productive in the workplace, establish positive relationships with colleagues, and effectively collaborate on team projects.

The workshop comprised three sessions: “Personality Development,” “Leadership and Soft Skills,” and “Communication Skills.” Each session aimed to equip the students with practical knowledge and techniques to enhance their overall leadership capabilities and professional effectiveness.

The valedictory program marked the conclusion of the workshop. Mrs. Simi Thomas, a Nursing Tutor, presented the workshop report, summarizing the key highlights and takeaways. Additionally, Mr. Nagendra and Miss. Bharathi, both 3rd-year students, shared their personal experiences and insights gained from the workshop. The program was skillfully hosted by Mrs. Manasa M, a Nursing Tutor, who served as the emcee for the event.

The workshop on leadership skills provided an enriching platform for the GNM students to enhance their leadership abilities, improve communication and interpersonal skills, and develop a well-rounded personality. The knowledge and skills gained during the workshop are expected to contribute to their professional growth and enable them to succeed in their future careers.

Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony – 2021

Mysuru, August 26, 2021: The 33rd batch of GNM Nursing Students of JSS School of Nursing, Mysuru, participated in the Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony held on August 26, 2021, at Sri Rajendra Bhavana.

The program commenced with an invocation song, followed by welcoming the dignitaries to the dais. The lamp was then lit by the dignitaries, symbolizing wisdom, knowledge, and compassion. The faculty members joined in lighting the lamps of the 95 nursing students, signifying their journey into the nursing profession. The students then recited the oath, pledging to uphold their responsibilities as professional nurses. Mrs. D.N. Renukadevi, the Principal, administered the oath-taking ceremony.

Adding to the solemnity of the event, a melodious and soothing song titled “Shine a Light” was performed. The Chief Guest for the ceremony, Sri R. Mahesh, Director of JSS Medical Education, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru, addressed the gathering. He congratulated the nursing students on taking their oath and emphasized the importance of responsibility during their student life. Sri Mahesh expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of frontline staff nurses during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, acknowledging the recognition they received from various sectors. He also highlighted the objective of JSS Institution in providing quality training and urged the students to utilize the available resources for their better future. Sri Mahesh motivated the students to uphold the sanctity of the nursing profession and make effective use of the opportunities provided by the institution.

Mrs. Neetha Dalvi S. highlighted the significance of the day, underscoring the importance of the Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony as a meaningful and symbolic event in the nursing profession.

Headmistress of JSS School, Suttur, Participates in ‘Nishtaa Training’ Program at Carmel School

Suttur, August 2, 2021: Smt. C.P. Nirmala, Headmistress, In-charge of JSS School, recently attended the highly regarded ‘Nishtaa Training’ program held at Carmel School in Nanjangud. The program, specifically designed for headmasters, took place on August 2, 2021, and aimed to provide valuable training and support in their crucial roles.

The ‘Nishtaa Training program witnessed enthusiastic participation from headmasters across the region. It served as a platform for sharing knowledge, discussing best practices, and enhancing leadership skills in the educational landscape. Smt. C.P. Nirmala actively engaged in the program, leveraging the opportunity to further her professional development and contribute to the advancement of education.

Building upon the success of the headmasters’ program, the ‘Nishtaa Training’ initiative continued with a subsequent session dedicated to teachers from aided schools. Held at Carmel School in Nanjangud on August 5 and 6, 2021, this program focused on empowering teachers with enhanced teaching methodologies and pedagogical approaches.

In a parallel effort to support the professional growth of educators, the School Education Division, JSS MVP, organized a workshop on ‘Management of Educational Documents’ on August 5, 2021, exclusively for JSS School teachers. The workshop aimed to provide valuable guidance on effectively managing educational documents in accordance with the new National Education Policy.

During the inaugural session, esteemed speakers shared their insights and encouraged teachers to strive for excellence. Sri G.L. Tripurantaka, Coordinating Officer, JSS Institutions, emphasized the significance of maintaining proper documentation while encouraging innovative teaching methods. Sri B.A. Rajashekara, Director, School Education Division, JSS MVP, stressed the importance of continuous learning and activity-based teaching. Sri H.V. Sheshagirirao, Deputy Director, School Division, JSS MVP, highlighted the value of lesson planning, while Sri S.C. Channabasappa and Sri H.S. Nagaraju, Subject Analysts, provided valuable inputs on lesson plan preparation and note-taking.

The workshop provided a platform for teachers to actively engage in practical sessions, where they crafted lesson plans and notes to enhance their teaching practices. Notably, the participation of Headmasters and teachers from JSS High School and Higher Primary School added value and enriched the collaborative learning environment.

The program commenced with a captivating invocation by Kum. Sahana, setting the stage for an insightful and productive event. Smt. Kavyashri, a co-teacher, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers. The event was skillfully coordinated by Sri M. Rajashekaramurthy, who welcomed the attendees and ensured the smooth flow of the program.

A students enrolment campaign was conducted from 01.07.2021 to 03.07.2021 at Suttur

A students enrolment campaign was conducted from 01.07.2021 to 03.07.2021 at Suttur. Teachers of the JSS Educational Institution visited several villages including Kaahahalli, Gejjaganahalli, Alatturu, Haniyamballi, Nagarle, Sarguru, Suttur, Biligere, Jeemaranahalli, Bilugali, Hoskote and Tummanerale and enrolled the students.

A bridge course and exam was conducted from 01.07.2021 to 30.01.2021 for 8th, 9th and 10th standard students and they were provided certificates.

8th Standard ‘A’ section student Amrutha R. has passed in the NMMS exams held on 02.07.2021. She will be receiving a sum of Rs. 12,000/- scholarship annually for the next four years.

Smt. Suma, who was working as an ‘Ayaah’ in our school was promoted as an Assistant of the JSS Nursing School, Chamarajanagara and transferred.

The SSCL exams for this year was held for two days on 19.07.2021 and 22.07.2021.

Gandha Gambheer, a 9th Standard student studying at the JSS Residential school in Suttur lost both his parents recently. While his father died due to heart attack, his mother lost her life due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Subject teachers of the school participated in a webinar organized for the benefit of Mathematics, Science and Social Science teachers, by the Office of the BEO, on 30.08.2021.

Language teachers of our school took part in the webinar organized for the benefit of Kannada, English, Hindi, Sanskrit language teachers, organized by the Office of the BEO, on 31.08.2021. The BEO discussed about the measures required to be taken to improve the classroom education and results.
