Free Mass Marriage program at Suttur on November 17, 2021

Suttur, July 10, 2021: The Suttur Sri Veerasimhasana Samsthana Math has been conducting monthly free mass marriage programs since February 2009, apart from the mass marriage program conducted during the Adijagadguru’s Jatra Mahotsav held at Suttur Srikshetra, with the divine blessings of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

Sri Haraguru Charamurthy will participate in the mass marriages held at Suttur Srikshetra along with the relatives and friends of the couples and bless them.

The groom should be above 21 years of age and the groom should be above 18 years of age to participate in the mass marriage program. Interested people can send applications along with the photograph of the bride and groom, along with caste certificates and certificate or school marks card copy as proof of age. Child marriages are strictly prohibited.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and government guidelines, all those who participate should compulsorily wear a mask, maintain social distancing and also undergo all other guidelines like thermal scanning, washing hands, and sanitizing.

This month’s mass marriage program is scheduled for November 17, 2021, Wednesday. Mahatma Gandhiji was a testimony for Truth, Peace, Sacrifice, and Non-violence: Dr. M. Somashekaraiah

Mysuru, October 2, 2021: “It is impossible to imagine an independent India, without the presence of Mahatma Gandhiji. His name itself had become an inspiration for the citizens to fight for the freedom of India. Mahatma Gandhiji was a testimony for truth, peace, sacrifice, and non-violence,” opined Dr. M. Somashekaraiah.

Dr. M. Somashekariah participated as the chief guest at a function held at the JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, B.N. Road, Mysuru, on the occasion of the 152nd Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi. Speaking about the contributions of Mahatma Gandhiji he mentioned that simplicity and ideologies were the special features of Gandhiji. He also mentioned Lal Bahadur Shastri’s involvement and contributions to the Indian independence.

Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College presided over the program. He emphasized that October 2nd is recognized as the ‘International Peace Day,’ because of Gandhiji’s principles and non-violence. ‘Gandhiji’s life has become an inspiration for many people not only in India but also across the world. He felt that it is impossible to understand the multi-faceted personality of Gandhiji, as he had involved himself in several fields, and also his leadership qualities made him fight against untouchability. Gandhiji’s life itself became a message for the people of India, and he gave equal importance to women in the freedom struggle. Gandhiji treated his enemies also like his friends, he mentioned.

Earlier the program commenced with an invocation by Kum. S. Shravya. Dr. L. Vinay Kumar welcomed the guests and gathering, and Sri T. Gurupadaswamy proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. N. Maheshwari compered the program. Dr. H.C. Honappa, Principal, JSS Degree College, and Sri S. Somashekar, Principal, JSS PU College were present. Teaching, non-teaching staff, and students participated in the program.

Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanthi celebrated at JSS School, in Suttur

Suttur, October 2, 2021: The JSS Educational Institution, Suttur, had organized a program on the occasion of the Mahatma Gandhiji, Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, and Senior Citizens Day.

Sri K.L. Revanasiddaiah, Joint Director, General Development Division, JSS MVP was the chief guest. In his address, he explained that Mahatma Gandhiji is known across the world for bringing independence to India through his non-violence movement. “Gandhi’s life itself is an open book. He led his life as he said, and did what he said. Four continents and twelve countries have adopted his principles. Though he did not get a noble prize, we should not forget that he is the Father of our Nation. That is why we call him ‘Mahatma.’ He used to walk during all the ‘Satyagrah movements.’ His human values are a model for today’s society. He was the first person to raise his voice against racism in Africa and started movements. Gandhiji is not just a person. He was in fact a strength. Lal Bahadur Shastri also used to follow Gandhiji’s principles. Gandhi’s simplicity, self-esteem, honesty, and other principles should become an inspiration for all Indians. We need leaders like Shastriji, who called the people of the nation to support farmers and soldiers through his statement ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ and take our country towards the path of development and progress,” he said.

Speaking about senior citizens he mentioned that the contribution of senior citizens to society is immense. “They are guiding today’s youth through their suggestions and set the society right. We have to respect our seniors, and we should not neglect them,” he advised.

Udayashankar, Administrative Officer, JSS Institutions, Sri Manjunath Angadi, Senior Scientist, JSS KVK, Heads of various departments of the school Sri G.L.Tripurantaka, Sri Veerabhadraiah, Sri K. Venkateshwara Rao, Sri S. Shivaswamy, Sri G. Shivamallu, Sri B.M. Siddappa, Smt. C.P. Nirmala, Sri G.M. Shadakshari, and Sri Mahadevaprasad were present.

Primary Education Minister presents new NEP to HH Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji

Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. Nagesh visited the Suttur Srikshetra on Saturday, and submitted the New National Education Policy, Kannada edition copy to Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, and sought his blessings.
