Suttur, March 12, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vignana Kendra, Suttur, organized a three-day training program aimed at making country chicken farming a profitable business.
The valedictory program saw the participation of Sri Sagar Urs, Brand Founder of Mysuru Nati Koli brand. In his address, he emphasized the importance of scientific and entrepreneurial approach towards country chicken farming. He highlighted the demand for country chicken and eggs in the market and urged farmers to consider it as a serious enterprise to increase their income. He encouraged participants to view it as a self-employment opportunity and strive to become successful entrepreneurs.
Dr. Raghavendra T.P., Chief Veterinarian at the Veterinary Hospital, Suttur, delivered a lecture on chicken farming and informed farmers about the various programs and resources available through ICAR JSS KVK to benefit them in agriculture and animal husbandry. He advised farmers to make the best use of these programs to maximize profits and become progressive farmers.

Senior scientists from ICAR JSS KVK and Incharge Head, Smt. H.V. Divya, also spoke at the program and expressed their hopes that participants of the training program would eventually become resource persons for future programs organized by JSS KVK.
The training program saw the participation of progressive farmers such as Maalingaiah Rajanna, Suresh Patel from Challakere, Chitradurga, Krishnappa from Nanjangud, and 49 others. Dr. Rakshith Raj U.M. concluded the program and delivered the vote of thanks.

The Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, College and Technical Education Department, Bengaluru, in association with the JSS Polytechnic for Differently-Abled, Mysuru, had organized a workshop on the topic, ‘Youth for National Service Scheme – Knowledge and Scientific Attitude,’ at the Suttur Srikshetra. Special pooja was performed to the His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Ghanalinga Shivayogi Mahaswamiji’s shrine at the Kaggere Srikshetra in Tumakuru Disttrict. The Utsav idol of Sri Tontada Siddalingeshwara was taken in a procession to the shrine. Sri S. Shivakumaraswamy, Sri Duggahatti Veerbhadrappa and other devotees are seen in the picture.
Tumakuru, March 9, 2022: A special pooja program, including rudrabhisheka, special alankara (flower decoration), and mahamangalarathi, was conducted today at the shrine of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Ghanalinga Shivayogi Mahaswamiji, as part of the Sri Tontada Siddalingeshwara Swamiji’s jatra mahotsav at Kaggere Tapokshetra in Kunigal Taluk, Tumakuru District.
His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Ghanalinga Shivayogi Mahaswamiji, the 11th pontiff of the Suttur Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, dedicated his life to noble social works alongside Yediyuru Sri Siddalingeshwara Mahaswamiji. Like his contemporaries, HH Sri Ghanalinga Shivayogi Mahaswamiji has left behind timeless religious messages and literary contributions in the form of sacred vachanas for the betterment of society.
During the program, the Utsav idol of Sri Tontada Siddalingeshwara Swamiji was taken in a procession to the shrine of Sri Ghanalinga Shivayogi Mahaswamiji.
Prominent attendees included Sri Veerbhadrappa and family of Duggahatti, S.A. Mallesh, Honorary President of Mandya District Veerashaiva-Lingayat Hitharakshana Samiti, retired Headmaster and litterateur Pandavapua Chandrashekaraiah of Kuntibetta, officers of Srimath and JSS Institutions, members of the Kaggere Temple Administrative Board, and devotees from Kaggere and surrounding villages.
Music teachers and students from the JSS Music School, Suttur, presented a vachana recital program, and prasad was distributed to all attendees after the program.

ICAR JSS Krishi Vignana Kendra, Suttur, in collaboration with Kshetra Janasamparka Karyaalaya, Mysuru Division, ATMA project, Agriculture Department, and Agricultural Technicians Institute, Mysuru Chapter, organized a program to commemorate International Women’s Day on March 8, 2022. The event also coincided with the celebration of the 75th year of Indian Independence.
The program was inaugurated by Smt. Mahadevamma Rangaswamy, Chairman of Biligere Gram Panchayat. Dr. T.C. Poornima, Deputy Director of Kshetra Janasamparka Kaaryalaya, Mysuru Division, addressed the attendees and highlighted the significance of the program.
Smt. N. Jamuna Urs, Home Scientist at ICAR JSS Krishi Vignana Kendra, Suttur, emphasized the importance of International Women’s Day and encouraged women to take pride in their achievements. The guest speaker, Smt. Bhagyashri Y. Nookapur, Senior Supervisor of Mysuru Rural Child Development Program, advised women to engage in income-generating activities through self-help groups.
As part of the celebrations, Smt. Jayalakshmi, a successful entrepreneur, was felicitated. Various competitions, including food preparation using different millets, rangoli, and group games, were held for rural women. Winners of the competitions were recognized and awarded prizes. Smt. Padma secured the first prize in the millets food preparation competition, followed by Smt. Sonu (2nd prize) and Smt. K.P. Jayashri (3rd prize). Smt. Dhanalakshmi received the consolation prize.
In the rangoli competition, Smt. Sheela won the first prize, followed by Smt. Dhanalakshmi (2nd prize) and Smt. Shobha (3rd prize). In the group competition (Bombing game), Smt. Manjula, Smt. Suma, and Smt. Gowramma secured the first, second, and third prizes, respectively.
The program was presided over by Sri Manjunath Angadi, Senior Scientist at ICAR JSS Krishi Vignana Kendra, Suttur. Sri J.H. Yogesh, Secretary of Agricultural Technicians Institute (Mysuru Chapter) and Deputy Director of District Agricultural Training Center, Sri Deepak B.S., Assistant Agriculture Director, and Sri Ramesh, Director (Retd.) of JSS Janashikshana Samsthe, were present at the event.
Sri P. Darshan, Publicity Assistant of Kshetra Janasamparka Kaaryalaya, extended a warm welcome to the guests and attendees. Dr. Rakshith Raj U.M., Veterinarian at ICAR JSS Krishi Vignana Kendra, delivered the vote of thanks, and Smt. Netravathi Yettinamani, Home Scientist at JSS KVK, efficiently managed the program.
Approximately 60 women, staff members of JSS KVK, and other participants actively participated in the program.
Program: Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

Mysuru, March 3, 2022: Prof. A.B. Balasubramaniam highlighted the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in protecting creative works during a one-day seminar on the subject organized by JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru. The seminar, sponsored by the UGC, aimed to raise awareness among professors and students about the importance of IPR.
In his inaugural address, Prof. A.B. Balasubramaniam, a retired professor in Geology from the University of Mysore, emphasized the need for creative and inventive thinking in the field of IPR. He stressed the importance of encouraging students and increasing awareness in this area to foster more studies and innovations. Prof. Balasubramaniam lauded the efforts of JSS Institution in promoting IPR awareness among students and teachers.
The seminar was presided over by Prof. B.V. Samabashivaiah, Chief Executive Officer of JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, who underscored the importance of being well-versed in Intellectual Property Rights in the current era. He acknowledged the role of IPR awareness in higher education and commended the organization of programs like this seminar for the benefit of faculty, research scholars, and students.
As the resource person, Prof. Asna Urooj, DOS in Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Mysore, delivered a technical session on “Intellectual Property Rights: What Researchers need to know.” She provided insights into various aspects of IPR and explained how it ensures that creators benefit from their work, whether it is a product invention, research paper publication, or the discovery of a new drug.
Dr. H.C. Honappa, Principal of JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, delivered the introductory speech and extended a warm welcome to the guests. The program began with an invocation by Kum. Shravya, and Dr. R. Suhas, the convener, skillfully managed the proceedings. Dr. B.Y. Satishkumar concluded the seminar with a vote of thanks.
The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from research scholars and guides from various colleges.
