Indian Culture is a symbol of harmony and coordination: Prof. Muzaffar H. Assadi

Mysuru, March 13, 2023: Prof. Muzaffar H. Assadi, a Professor at the University of Mysore, inaugurated the Cultural and Sports Forum at JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science in Mysuru. During his address, he emphasized the importance of understanding Indian culture and heritage through studying and experiencing it firsthand. He highlighted the four important aspects of Indian culture as harmony, coordination, recognition, and the search for truth. He also encouraged students to study and understand Indian culture, as it would help them develop a secular mindset and a big heart.

The program was presided over by R. Mugeshappa, Director, Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha. He emphasized the importance of developing an interest in cultural and sports activities, and advised students to reduce their mobile phone usage and take part in cultural and sports activities.

The event was attended by B.A. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar, Principal, Dr. M.P. Somashekar, Cultural Forum Convener, Sports Forum Convener Sri M. Kartik, and several students. The program included an invocation by Kum. Shanti and Kum. H.S. Harshavardhan, a welcome address by 2nd year M.Sc. student Kum. A. Harshini, a vote of thanks by A. Shreyas, a 2nd year M.Sc. student, and the mastering of the program by Kum. K. Yashaswini, also a 2nd year M.Sc. student.

JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science in Mysuru Celebrates 15th Graduates’ Day with Words of Wisdom and Felicitation.

Mysuru, March 13, 2023:  The Graduates’ Day program held at JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science in Mysuru was an important event in the lives of the graduating students. The program was graced by the presence of Smt. C. Shikha, Commissioner, Commercial Tax Department, Govt. of Karnataka, and His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

In her address, Smt. Shikha advised the students to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals. She encouraged them to be always active and innovative and think about new innovations while staying away from negative thoughts. Smt. Shikha urged the students to always think about how and what they can contribute to their country and places where they are staying. She also cautioned them against misusing social media and the internet, urging them to use these tools judiciously.

The program saw the felicitation of 65 meritorious students with mementoes and certificates, and 10 students were awarded various endowment prizes. A total of 1054 students, including both UG and PG courses, received their graduation certificates, and C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, gave the pledge to the new graduates.

The event began with an invocation by Kum. Sannidhi and Kum. Vasavi Bhat, and the welcome address was delivered by B.A. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the college. Dr. N. Rajendra Prasad hosted the program, and the vote of thanks was given by Principal Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar. Dr. B. Prabhuswamy, College Examination Controlling Officer, was also present on the dais.

JSS Autonomous College in Mysuru to Hold 15th Graduation Day with Chief Guest Smt. C. Shikha

Mysuru, March 10, 2023: The JSS Autonomous College in Mysuru is all set to celebrate its 15th Graduation Day program on March 12, 2023, at the Suvarna Mahotsava auditorium within the college premises. The ceremony will begin at 11:03 am, in the divine presence of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

The esteemed chief guest for the event will be Smt. C. Shikha, Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Government of Karnataka, who will address the graduates. Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, will preside over the ceremony.

A total of 1054 graduates, including 378 boys and 216 girls from undergraduate courses and 154 boys and 306 girls from postgraduate courses, will participate in the ceremony and receive their certificates. The event will also see the felicitation of 65 meritorious students from various disciplines.

All graduates have been invited to attend the event and are requested to arrive at the college at 9:30 am and register their names.

Inauguration of introductory and student unions

Suttur, March 9, 2023: The JSS Institute of Education, Suttur, organized the ‘Introductory and Student Unions’ inaugural program.’

Sri S. Srikantaswamy, Director, Development Board, University of Mysore inaugurated the program. In his address, he said, the role of student unions is vital in the overall development of students. He released a wallpaper titled ‘GOPA’ published by students of the college. “Students should engage in areas of literature more. The GOPA paper brings out the creativity in the students,” he observed.

In his address, Sri Veerabhadraiah, Assistant Coordinating Officer, JSS Institutions, Suttur, explained the importance of discipline, and time sense, to the students and provided complete details about the Srikshetra Suttur and JSS Institution.

Dr. H.M. Mahesh, the Principal of the college presided over the program. He called upon the students to develop good skills through the students’ unions and emerge as good teachers and serve society in the future.

Success from discipline: Air Commdr. Bhupendra Singh Kanwar

Mysuru, March 6, 2023: JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, has secured second place as the best institution under the Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate, a remarkable achievement. Air Commodore Bhupendra Singh Kanwar acknowledged the achievement during a live phone-in program organized by the VSM DDG Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate and JSS Radio 91.2 FM.

Speaking at the event, Air Commodore Bhupendra Singh Kanwar praised the NCC for teaching discipline and emphasized its importance in achieving success. He also stressed the significance of developing values of life, such as ethics, and how they are relevant in today’s society.

During the program, students from various parts of the state called in and interacted with Air Commodore Bhumpendra Singh Kanwar. Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College Complex, felicitated him for his presence and contributions.

Mysuru Group Commodore NCC Col. R.R. Menon, 14 Karnataka Battalion Commanding Officer Col. Manish Prasad, and College Principal Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar were present. NCC Officer Lt. Dr. L. Vinaykumar mastered the program.

UGC Sponsored One-day National Level Seminar

Mysuru, March 6, 2023: The Postgraduate Department of Physics, JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, organized a UGC-sponsored one-day national level seminar on ‘Applications of Nanomaterials,’ on March 3, 2023.

Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College inaugurated the program, and addressed the gathering, and explained the importance and necessity of Nanotechnology. Prof. M. P. Vijayendra Kumar, Principal, was present.

Dr. R. Justin Joseyphus, Prof. & Head, NIT, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, and Dr. Asha Srinivasan, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Department of Nanoscience and Technology, JSSAHER, Mysuru, were the resource persons.

Dr. R Justin Joseyphus spoke on the “Fundamentals and Applications of Magnetic Nanoparticles”. He gave insights into Nanoscale Magnetic Properties, and their Biomedical and Recording Applications. He highlighted Nanotechnology as the future of data recording.

Dr. Asha Srinivasan spoke on the topic, “Nanotechnology-A Small Solution to Big Problems.” She enlightened the students about biomedical applications and the wide career opportunities in the field.

Ms. Supriya N.M. and Mr. Prashanth hosted the event. Miss Parvati and Shruti K. started the program by invocation.

A total number of 100 students, 20 research scholars, and faculties participated in the Seminar. The lecture program was followed by an interaction between the resource persons and participants. Ms. Shruthi D. delivered a vote of thanks.

Transformation of knowledge is the symbol of development: M.K. Ravishankar

Mysuru, March 03, 2023: The JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, held a one-day workshop on financial management on March 2, 2023. The workshop was inaugurated by M.K. Ravishankar, Deputy Manager (Retd.), BEML, Mysuru, who noted that sources of knowledge transform according to context and need, which is a symbol of development.

In his address, Ravishankar emphasized the importance of managing expenses in financial management, highlighting aspects like inflow and outflow of money, investment, and depreciation. He gave several examples to illustrate his points.

Presiding over the program, Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, underscored the role of budget in the economy, development, and its background. He also emphasized that income tax and goods and service tax are essential components of development that contribute to the increase in the GDP of our country.

The workshop also featured PG Commerce student Kum. Arpita, who welcomed the guests and gathering. Student Kum. J.R. Srinidhi gave a vote of thanks and Kum. R. Bhoomika rendered an invocation. Kum. T.S. Aishwarya mastered the program, and Principal Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar and PG Commerce Department Head Dr. Divya L. were present.

The workshop provided students with valuable insights into managing expenses and making informed financial decisions that can benefit both companies and the economy.

Prof. Paramashivaiah of Tumakuru University and Chartered Account Sri Keshav Dongre, Sri Vageesh Hegde delivered separate lectures. Teachers, research students, and other students of the college were present.
