Suttur, May 15, 2023: The prestigious Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Suttur, in collaboration with the Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti and JSS Mahavidyapeetha, proudly announces the commencement of a transformative study camp. From May 15 to 19, 2023, this exceptional event brings together pontiffs from various maths, accomplished individuals, and seekers of spirituality. The inaugural ceremony took place on May 14, Sunday, in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, featuring an engaging interaction among the esteemed participants.
Drawing participants from across the state, including prominent regions such as Mysuru, Hassan, Mandya, Tumakuru, Dharwad, Chitradurga, Belagavi, Bagalkot, Bidar, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and other districts, the study camp has attracted over 60 enthusiastic attendees. Notably, pontiffs from various maths in Sollapur, Maharashtra, have also joined this enlightening gathering.
The five-day program promises an enriching experience, with lectures by distinguished scholars focusing on the history of Kallumath Prabhudevara Lingaleelavilasa. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and interactions, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter. This exceptional study camp warmly welcomes all individuals interested in participating and benefiting from this unique platform.
Suttur, May 9, 2023: JSS High School, Suttur, has recorded an excellent performance in the recently announced SSLC exam results for the academic year 2022-23. A total of 432 students appeared for the exams, with 423 students passing, registering a pass percentage of 98%.
Out of the total students who passed, 96 scored more than 500 marks, with 44 achieving distinction, 311 securing first class and 63 securing second class.
In the English medium category, Shivraj S. Hiremath emerged as the topper of the school with 612 out of 625 marks, followed by Poorvashri T.M. with 609 marks in the second place, and Pinku with 596 marks in the third place. The pass percentage in the English medium category is 98.26%.
In the Kannada medium category, Meghana secured the first position with 582 marks. The pass percentage in the Kannada medium category is 97.68%.
The school is also proud to have Khusbhu Kumar, a student from Jarkhand, who scored 107 marks in Kannada, followed by Amitkumar Mehto with 102 marks. Additionally, 9 students scored 125/125 in first language Kannada, 5 students with Hindi as their third language, 2 students with Sanskrit as their third language, one student in science and one student in Social Science scored 100/100 marks.
The administrative officers, coordinating officer, Heads of various departments of the school, Headmasters, teachers, wardens, non-teaching staff have extended their warm congratulations to all the students for their excellent performance.
Suttur, May 9, 2023: Dr. D.S. Guru, a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Mysore, shared his insights on the importance of a positive attitude for achieving success at a camp organized for JSS Technical College students. The camp was held at Sri Suttur Kshetra from May 6 to 8.
Speaking on the topic of ‘Coping with Uncertainty,’ Dr. D.S. Guru emphasized the role of a positive attitude in overcoming fear, anxiety, stress, and pressure caused by life’s uncertainties. He suggested that developing confidence, improving knowledge, and cultivating positive thinking can help individuals overcome illusions and find their path to success. “We should try to solve all our problems by developing confidence, honesty, and experience. We should live with an idea of our future,” he said.
Sri Vinay Paramashivappa, the leadership and development advisor of Royal Mysore Walk Tour, spoke on ‘Unexplored India.’ He emphasized the importance of curiosity, reading books, exploring places, and exchanging ideas and opinions to gain wisdom and skills. “No one can teach us life skills. We should develop it through our own attitude and experiences,” he added.
The camp was held in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathi Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. The daily program included a group prayer, yoga-meditation, and Sri Suttur Kshetra darshan in the morning, followed by traditional games and cultural programs in the evening. About 65 individuals participated in the camp.

Mysuru, May 9, 2023: Dr. K.S. Sundar, a representative of Infosys Limited, spoke about the benefits of design thinking during a three-day camp organized for JSS College technical students at the Sri Suttur Kshetra from May 6 to 8. Dr. Sundar highlighted that design thinking taps into capabilities and enables individuals to identify problems in their respective work areas, emphasizing the importance of empathy and feasibility in the process. “Our wisdom should be full of skills, which helps us in hunting solutions for our problems by using our wisdom,” he said.
In another talk, psychological counselor Dr. Sujatha Bhaskar shared her views on stress management and yoga, emphasizing that stress is not an inherent part of life, but rather a result of poor management. She encouraged the participants to practice yoga, develop positive attitudes, and maintain good time management to control stress. “Relaxing a little also helps in controlling stress,” she added.
The camp, held in the presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathi Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, involves group prayer, yoga-meditation, and Sri Suttur Kshetra darshan in the morning. In the evenings, participants engage in traditional games and cultural programs. About 65 individuals are participating in the camp.
Suttur, May 7, 2023: Special pooja programs, Rudrabhishek and Ashtottara has been organized at the shrine of the 22nd Pontiff of Srimadsuttur Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthan Math, His Holiness Jagadguru Mantramaharshi Sri Shivaratheeshwara Mahaswamiji, as part of his 138th Jayanthi Mahotsav. Mysuru, May 05, 2023: The Jagadguru Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, in association with the Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti, and the JSS Mahavidyapeetha hosted a three-day camp for the JSS Pharmacy and Life Sciences students, at the Suttur Srikshetra.
Today’s event featured talks by renowned nutritionist Dr. Khader Ali and violinist Dr. Mysuru M. Manjunath, who emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy diet, lifestyle, and spiritual practices for good health and well-being.
During his talk, Nutritionist Dr. Khader Ali, a Padmashree awardee, highlighted the significance of natural, unprocessed food in maintaining good health. He suggested that consuming desi food and adding more millets to the diet could provide better health benefits than relying on medicines. He also cautioned against the harmful effects of consuming too much processed food.
Dr. Mysuru M. Manjunath, a renowned violinist, spoke about the emotional nature of music and its presence in nature. He noted that music has no language limits and can be enjoyed regardless of whether one understands the technical aspects of it or not. He also presented an Aalapan in Brundavan Saranga Raaga, followed by the bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghava Rajaram.’
The camp was held in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivaratheeshwara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji and was attended by about 130 students from the JSS Pharmacy College and Life Science College in Ooty and Mysuru. The event also included a mass prayer and yoga-meditation, and participants were given the opportunity to provide feedback at the end of the camp.
The event aimed to promote a holistic approach to health and well-being, emphasizing the importance of a healthy diet, lifestyle, and spiritual practices. The talks by Dr. Khader Ali and Dr. Mysuru M. Mysuru, May 3, 2023: Sri Swami Mahamedananda of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama inaugurated a three-day camp organized for the students of Pharmacy and Life Sciences at the Sri Suttur Kshetra. The event started on May 3 and ended on May 5.
During the opening ceremony, Swami Mahamedananda delivered a lecture on “Achieving Dual Success in Life,” where he emphasized the importance of achieving success in two aspects, external and internal. He noted that while monetization provides happiness in the physical world, a valuable life gives internal happiness. He further stressed that good hobbies are a form of personality and a reflection of our thoughts and actions. He encouraged participants to develop good hobbies and habits by controlling their thoughts through self-control, saying that our internal strength and talent will awaken when we shoulder responsibilities in our jobs.
Sri S. Praveen Kumar of the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, Sarguru, delivered a lecture on “Constructing Professional Life with an Objective,” highlighting that society can only become better if individuals strive to improve themselves. He noted that our goals should be focused on what we can contribute to society rather than changing the world.
Dr. Arun Ramanagarm of Sri Padmavathi Ayush Brain and Spine Rehabilitation Institute, Ramanagara spoke on “Yoga and Nature Cure,” emphasizing that yoga is a good cure for physical and mental illnesses. He explained various asanas such as Yama, NIyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dhaarana, Dhyana, and Samadhi, which can bring people closer to god.

Mysuru, May 4, 2023: Dr. Shivraj Patil, an Associate Professor at SDM Yoga and Nature Cure Center, delivered a lecture on the topic of “Wisdom of Traditional Healing” at a camp organized for Pharmacy and Life Sciences students at the Suttur Srikshetra from May 3 to 5. He emphasized the importance of developing psychophysical understanding to manage stress and lead a healthy life.
According to Dr. Patil, “Everyone will face stress in managing family and profession. But it can be managed properly through psychophysical wisdom. Our wisdom is based on the food we eat and our activities. Therefore, we should not compare ourselves, compete with everyone. We should try to increase our psychophysical wisdom by developing habits like consuming natural food, yoga, good sleep, good attitude and respecting self. We should live according to the law of nature and adopt love, peace, happiness, knowledge, truth and qualities in ourselves.”
Sri Harish M. Kodendar, a Professional Management Consultant in Mysuru, also spoke at the camp on the topic of “How to Become Global Professionals.” He advised individuals to develop creative skills, communication skills, organizing skills, and unity. He emphasized the importance of assessing past and present developments and future needs before starting a profession. He also emphasized the importance of developing capabilities, sharp thinking, adaptability, acceptance, awareness, and appreciation.

The 300th Shivanubhava Dasoha was held at Sri Suttur Math, Mysuru in the divine presence of HH Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji on 29th April 2023. Shivanubhava Dasoha lecture series commenced on 12th May 1996. Since then the programme has been conducted on the last Saturday of every month. The topics related to religion, spirituality, vachanas, health, society, and lifestyle are discussed in the programme.
Prof. HS Shivaprakash, renowned Poet and Dramatist delivered the 300th lecture, Sri Vishwanath P Hiremath, Director, Dept. of Kannada and Culture, presided over the event. The event was sponsored by Smt. D.C. Radha and P Shivaraju.
