Nanjangud, August 16, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vignana Kendra, Suttur, organized a training program on new tomato crop varieties, at Haratale Village in Najangud Taluk today.
Dr. Vinay G.M., Horticulture Scientist of the JSS KVK provided detailed information about the improved tomato crop variety and cultivation methods to the participants. He explained in detail how farmers can get more yield in vegetable crops by using nano urea and Arka microbial mixture. Explaining the characteristics of the new Tomato variety Arka Abheda, introduced by the IIHR, Bengaluru, he informed that the new variety is free of viral diseases and gives 20 to 25 tons of yield per acre.

The new tomato crop variety ‘Arka Abheda’ was distributed to 10 farmers. About 35 farmers of Hartale village participated in the training program.
