Kollegal, December 21, 2019: Smt. Nirmala Madhusudan, Advocate and President of the Senior Students Forum emphasized the crucial role advocates play in shaping a good society during a special lecture organized by the Youth Red Cross Society and Senior Students Forum. The event took place at JSS Women’s College in Kollegal as part of the Advocates Day celebrations.

In her address, Smt. Nirmala Madhusudan expressed her view that the legal profession carries great responsibility, as advocates tirelessly seek justice for victims of injustice, the oppressed, and the exploited. She highlighted the invaluable contribution of advocates in providing confidence and support to those in need. With their assistance, individuals can lead peaceful lives devoid of disputes and with increased courage. Smt. Nirmala Madhusudan firmly stated that advocates play a pivotal role in building a good society, holding the power to determine its survival and prosperity. She appealed to all legal professionals to respect their noble profession, abstain from misleading the court, and work towards expediting the delivery of justice to the people.

The program was presided over by Prof. Umesh, Principal of JSS Women’s College, Kollegal, who expressed his concern over a minority of advocates who take on cases on behalf of criminals facing charges such as rape for personal gain and power. He urged advocates to prioritize the punishment of wrongdoers and dedicate their efforts to aiding innocent individuals in their quest for justice. Prof. Umesh praised the majority of advocates who dutifully fulfill their responsibilities with honesty and integrity.
