Suttur, July 16, 2022: The student association of JSS Residential School in Suttur was inaugurated today, marking the beginning of its activities. The event was graced by Smt. H.S. Bindya, District Officer of the Backward Castes’ Welfare Department, Mysuru, who inaugurated the student association.
In her address, Smt. Bindya acknowledged the significant contribution of JSS Educational Institutions in providing education to thousands of students. She emphasized the importance of extra-curricular activities in fostering the holistic development of students. Smt. Bindya encouraged the students to focus not only on academic achievements but also on developing good qualities and character. She emphasized the need for students to have a specific aim and purpose in life and to strive towards their goals to become responsible and productive citizens of the country.
The chief guest, Dr. Rudramurthy, Assistant Professor (Retd.) from SJCE, Mysuru, commended JSS Mahavidyapeetha for its remarkable contributions to the education sector, not only within the state and country but also internationally. He praised the institution for providing free education and empowering rural students with quality education. Dr. Rudramurthy expressed his hope that the student association would organize meaningful and useful programs to develop various skills in the students, including sports, science, communication skills, leadership qualities, discipline, culture, progressive thinking, and unity.
The heads of various departments of JSS Residential School, Suttur, along with Sri G.L. Tripurantaka, Sri Sampath, Sri Veerabhadraiah, Sri G. Shivamallu, Sri Ma.Gu. Basavanna, Sri G.M. Shadakshari, Smt. P. Susheela, Sri Mahadevaprasad, and others were present at the inauguration.
The program began with an invocation by the school students, followed by a welcome address by Smt. S.J. Sowjanya. Sri P. Chetan delivered the vote of thanks, and the program was skillfully conducted by Smt. B.P. Sheela.
