“Success is not a destination but a journey”: Dr. B S Nagendra Parashar

Mysuru, March 31, 2022: Dr. B. S. Nagendra Parashar, Vice-Chancellor of Bahra University, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, delivered an inspiring address during the 14th Graduates’ Day held at the Golden Jubilee Hall in JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Mysuru. Reflecting on the theme, Dr. Parashar emphasized that success is not an endpoint but a continuous journey that requires hard work, involvement, and perseverance.

In his speech, Dr. Parashar underscored the importance of lifelong learning, emphasizing that there is always more to learn throughout our lives. He highlighted the notion that success is directly proportional to the effort we put in and stressed the practical application of this concept in our daily lives as the ultimate goal of education.

Recognizing the increasing competitiveness of the world, Dr. Parashar urged individuals to step out of their comfort zones and embrace the challenges necessary for success. He encouraged the graduates not to shy away from problems but rather seek solutions, asserting that with time and determination, all goals can be achieved. He also emphasized the significance of developing effective communication skills and maintaining a resilient attitude, urging students to refuse to let failures define them.

Dr. Parashar further emphasized that education aims to foster the holistic growth of individuals, while also emphasizing the importance of kindness in one’s journey through life.

The Graduates’ Day ceremony witnessed the participation of 999 graduates, comprising 533 UG and 466 PG students, with 526 women among them. On this occasion, 64 toppers were felicitated for their outstanding academic achievements.

Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, administered the oath to the fresh graduates, symbolizing their commitment to upholding the values of their education.

Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, and Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar, the Principal, delivered a vote of thanks. Dr. R. Suhas, from the Department of Chemistry, skillfully conducted the ceremony. Dr. B. Prabhuswamy, Controller of Examinations, was also present on the dais.
