Shivadeepotsava Fervor at Suttur Srikshetra: A Grand Celebration of Devotion and Music

Suttur, November 20, 2021: The sacred grounds of Suttur Srikshetra came alive on Friday evening as devotees gathered to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Shivadeepotsava. The event, held in honor of Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji and the revered deities Sri Someshwara, Sri Mahadeshwara, Sri Veerabhadreshwara, and Sri Narayanaswamy, witnessed an array of special puja programs. The divine presence of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji elevated the sanctity of the event.

The evening commenced with Mahamangalarathi and Praakarotsava, sacred rituals that involved the offering of illuminating lights and circumambulation around the holy shrines. The melodious voices of the teachers from the renowned Suttur Music School filled the air as they presented a captivating recital of Vachanas (spiritual verses) and devotional songs, creating a captivating spiritual ambience.

A significant highlight of the Shivadeepotsava program was the initiation ceremony of Shivadeeksha-Lingadeeksha. Over 25 children were bestowed with the sacred lingam, symbolizing their deep spiritual connection with Lord Shiva. This initiation marked an important milestone in their spiritual journey.

The entire temple complex and shrine were adorned with vibrant illuminations, casting a radiant glow over the celebrations. Esteemed seers from various mathas, including Hosmatha, Kuderu, Huliyurudurga, Dandikere, Alamatti, Chunchahalli, Naviluru, Shirmallimatha, and Haraguru Charamurthy, graced the event with their presence. The gathering also included notable personalities such as Sri R. Chetan, the Superintendent of Police of Mysuru District, Sri Shankarshetty, the Convener of the AKKA conference in America, as well as industrialists and devotees from the surrounding villages.

The Shivadeepotsava program at Suttur Srikshetra not only brought together devotees from far and wide but also served as a platform for spiritual enrichment and cultural exchange. This grand celebration showcased the fervor and devotion of the community, reinforcing the bond between the divine and the devotees.

Special lighting arrangements were made to the shrine of Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji, at the Suttur Srikshetra on Friday night as part of the Shivadeepotsava program.
