His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Suttur Math Seer honouring Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Subudhendra Swamiji of the Sri Raghavendraswamy Math, Mantralaya, during the latters visit to Sri Sutturkshetra.
Suttur, October 9, 2024: “Satsang (meaning the company of the good and truth) uplifts your life, while the company of negative influences can lead to destruction,” remarked His Holiness Sri Subudhendratheertha Swamiji of the Sri Raghavendraswamy Math, Mantralaya. During a program held at Srikshetra Suttur on October 9, 2024, he emphasized how the rivers, originating from one place, flow across many regions, bringing greenery and benefiting all people without discrimination. Similarly, the services provided by various religious maths across India contribute to the welfare of society, he said.
He explained that like rivers such as the Cauvery and Kapila, the Sri Suttur Math and Sri Raghavendraswamy Math, Mantralaya, are working together to improve the well-being of people and the state. “Maths are not just physical structures; they are centers of knowledge, spirituality, and sustenance. Their purpose is to uplift lives and ensure prosperity and happiness for all,” Swamiji added.
In his blessings, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji highlighted the historical roots linking Mantralaya to Nanjangud. He praised Sri Subudhendra Swamiji for introducing programs aimed at spiritual upliftment, noting that, although the Mantralaya Math is large and influential, Pujya Swamiji remains humble and grounded in human values.
Dr. H.S. Raghavendrarao, an entrepreneur and owner of DSX Systems Ltd., Bengaluru, sponsored the prizes distributed to meritorious students. He expressed his gratitude to the Suttur Math for nurturing him, allowing him to fulfill his parents’ dreams. “Studying at Suttur has been a true blessing,” he said.
Sri Vishveswara Bhat, Editor of Vishwani Kannada newspaper, compared maths to trees, providing shade and shelter to those in need. He emphasized that the Suttur and Mantralaya maths serve society selflessly, beyond caste and religion, and praised the seers for their noble work in uplifting humanity.
