PM-KISAN Instalment Release Programme Broadcast at ICAR JSS KVK, Suttur

Suttur, Mysuru, June 24, 2026: The live broadcast of the 23rd instalment release programme of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was organised at ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Suttur. The main programme was held at Tarakeshwar, Hooghly, West Bengal.

Speaking as the chief guest, Shri K. Raju, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Mysuru District, said that Aadhaar-linked FID will be issued to farmers for fertiliser distribution during the current season. He informed that fertilisers will be provided based on land records and advised farmers to visit their nearest Raitha Samparka Kendra to obtain their FID. He added that crop-wise fertiliser recommendations will also be provided at the Raitha Samparka Kendras.

Presiding over the programme, Dr. B.N. Gyanesh, Senior Scientist and Head of ICAR JSS KVK, Suttur, said that the Central Government provides annual financial assistance to eligible farmer families under the PM-KISAN scheme to support agricultural activities and improve crop yields. He advised farmers to utilise the PM-KISAN amount only for agricultural purposes.

In view of possible monsoon failure this year, Dr. Gyanesh advised farmers to cultivate crops such as daincha, jute, ragi and other millets. He also informed that experts are visiting various villages in the district under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan and urged farmers to make use of their guidance.

Subject matter specialists from KVK provided technical information on the importance of soil testing, fertiliser application based on soil test results, purchase of quality sowing seeds, seed treatment, improved cultivation practices, use of green manure to enhance soil fertility, and pest and disease management in crops.

The experts also shared information on integrated nutrient management and intercropping in horticultural crops such as banana, coconut and major vegetable crops. Guidance was provided on livestock nutrient management during the monsoon season, cultivation of various fodder crops and integrated disease management. Information was also given on value addition of agri-cultural produce and various schemes available from the Central Government.

More than 100 farmers and farm women participated in the programme.
