Admission is given to the students of class 8th, 9th and 10th as per the norms laid by the Govt. of Karnataka. Academic year commences from the last week of May. Lessons are taught in both English and Kannada languages.
Arts and sports are given equal importance along with academics. Our students actively participate in events such as dance, drama, music, writing, debate, and more, organized as part of national festivals and the annual Suttur festival. They also take part in inter-school competitions and Pratibha Karanji, conducted annually by the Government of Karnataka.
We encourage our students to appear for examinations conducted by both governmental and non-governmental organizations, such as those organized by the Hindi Prachar Sabha.

JSS Higher Primary School at Mylasandra was established in 1993 with the aim of enlightening rural students.
