Martyr’s Day observed at JSS College

Mysuru, January 30, 2023: The JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, had organized a program today, on January 30, 2023, on the occasion of the Martyrs Day.

Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, presided over the program. He gave the ‘Sarvadharma Samrakshana Pratijne’ (Pledge to protect all religions), to the students.

In his address, R. Sujatha Kumari, HoD of History, mentioned Mahatma Gandhiji is a special person the world has ever seen. “The role of Mahatma Gandhiji in our freedom struggle is unforgettable. Adopting Gandhiji’s three basic principles truth, non-violence and religious harmony in our hearts will be the greatest respect we give to him Gandhiji gifted us independence from the hands of the British, who had considered themselves as the mightiest, through a simple weapon ‘Satyagraha.’ India is the only country in the entire world, which became independent without using violence, and the complete credit goes to Mahatma Gandhiji,” she observed.

Earlier, Sri M.P. Mahadev, Assistant Professor, Political Science, welcomed the guests and the gathering. Degree College Principal M.P. Vijayendra Kumar, PU College Principal Somashekar and others were present. Political Science Department Head Smt. R.G. Asha gave a vote of thanks.
