Mahashivarathri festival fervor at Suttur

Sri K. Guruprasad and team of Mysuru, presenting the vachana recital and devotional songs singing program at the Mahashivarathri Jaagarana Mahotsav, held at the Suttur Srikshetra.

Suttur, March 01, 2022: Special puja programs were conducted the whole night at the Suttur Srimath in Suttur in the divine presence of His Holiness Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, on the occasion of the Mahashivarathri festival celebrations.

Special pujas, rudrabhisheka, ashotottara, and other rituals were performed at the shrine of Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Swamiji, and the temples of Sri Mahadeshwara, Sri Someshwara, Sri Veerbhadreshwara, and Sri Narayanaswamy.

While the students of the JSS Residential School, Suttur, presented several devotional cultural programs, Vidwan K. Guruprasad and team of Mysuru presented a vachana recital and devotional songs singing program. Keerthanachatura, Vidwan Sri S.R. Lakshminarasimhan of Mysuru presented the Shivakatha Sankeertan. Sri Siddappaji Neelagarara Sangha of Ramasamudra presented the Neelagara Mela, followed by a bhajan program by the Sri Basaveshwara Bhajana Mandali of Horalawadi.

Bhajan programs were also held by the Chunchanahalli, Chamarajanagara Kadali Mahila Vedike, Hooradalli, Somanahalli, Badanavalu, Helavaarahundi, Kontaianahundi and Bhogaianahundi Bhajan teams.

More than 60 vatus were given Shivadeeksha. The silver chariot procession around the temple premises was held. Thousands of devotees took part in the program with fervor.
