Literate youth should create jobs – Prof. Umesh

Kollegal, February 28, 2019: “The literate youth should try to become self-dependent and create jobs by considering taking up self-employment or start a own business instead of waiting for a job,” opined Prof. Umesh, Principal, JSS Women’s College, Kollegal.

He inaugurated the ‘Entrepreneurship Training Camp’ organized by the Commerce Club in association with the JSS Rudseti, Chamarajanagara District Industrial Center, JSS Mahavidyapeetha and the State Bank of India, held at the JSS Women’s College, in Kollegal recently.

In his address to the students he opined that, “there is no dearth of jobs in our country. But there is lack of eligible graduates who fit for those jobs. Today the country’s policies are entrepreneur-friendly. The youth should utilize the benefits of such workshops, training camps and make efforts to start a own business. You can become entrepreneurs only when you obtain skill education along with graduation.”

M.N. Murulesh, Joint Director, District Industrial Center, Chamarajanagar, presided over the programme. He provided complete information with respect to obtaining loan facilities under the P.M.E.P. scheme, how to start a business/enterprise in rural or urban areas. He also explained that those interested can collect information relating to banking from the Department.

Sri Venkatesh Y.K., Assistant Director, Chamarajanagar District Industries Center, explained about the loan facilities provided by banks and financial institutions to establish business unit/industry, after completing training under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme. He also informed that while the people belonging to general category have to invest 10 per cent of the total project cost, it is 5 per cent for SC/ST’s, minorities, differently-abled and other backward castes. The government is also providing 25 per cent subsidy.

Smt. Susheela, Assistant Manager, K.S.F.C., Chamarajanagara, Sri Kishore, Center Manager, Sri Keshavamohan, Chief Manager, SBI Kollegal, B.M. Chandrashekar, Project Officer, Rudset Institute, K. Chandrashekar Director and Sri B. Chinnaswamy, Coordinator were present.

Sri Kishore M.K., Sri Venkatesh Y.K., Sri Rajkumar and Sri B. Chinnaswamy spoke about various subjects and provided all information to the trainees.
