Kannada Rajyotsava and Children’s Day Celebrations Illuminate Suttur

Kannada Rajyotsava and Children’s Day celebrations were held at the JSS Educational Institution in Suttur. Shri C. Naganna, guest lecturer, University of Mysore, Prof. R. Moogeshappa, Director, College Education Division, JSS MVP and heads of various JSS institutions in Suttur were present.

Suttur, November 18, 2023: The JSS Educational Institution in Suttur witnessed a joyous amalgamation of culture, education, and celebrations during the joint observance of Children’s Day and Kannada Rajyotsava.

Chief guest Dr. C. Naganna, Senior Litterateur, guest lecturer at the University of Mysore, and Karnataka Rajyotsava award winner, commenced the event by expressing appreciation for the rich art, literature, and culture of Karnataka. Drawing inspiration from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr. C. Naganna highlighted Karnataka’s ancient history and traditions, emphasizing the state’s reputation for peace-loving citizens and a knowledge-driven society. He eloquently shared insights into the unification of Karnataka, the establishment of Kannada Sahitya Parishath, and the division of regions based on language, underscoring their historical significance. Dr. Naganna also praised the Suttur Math and JSS Mahavidyapeetha for their ‘Trividha Dasoha’ initiative (knowledge, food, and healthcare), lauding their contribution to the holistic development of students.

Another chief guest, Prof. R. Moogeshappa, Director of the College Education Division at JSS Mahavidyapeetha, commended the strength and potential of today’s children. He emphasized that with proper guidance, they would undoubtedly become exemplary citizens. Prof. Moogeshappa acknowledged the role of JSS Mahavidyapeetha and Suttur Srimath in supporting children who face limited facilities. He took pride in the achievements of students from JSS schools and colleges in various state-level and national-level competitions in yoga, music, mallkambh, and sports.

Presiding over the event, Shri G.L. Tripurantaka, Coordinating Officer of JSS Educational Institution, called for the promotion and protection of the Kannada language. He urged students to embrace Kannada as their language of love and heart, emphasizing the duty of Kannadigas to safeguard and develop the language. Shri Tripurantaka applauded the students’ active participation in extra-curricular activities and expressed gratitude to JSS MVP for providing educational opportunities to children from states such as Meghalaya, Manipur, Jharkhand, and Bihar.

The ceremony included the distribution of prizes to students who excelled in various sports and competitions organized in honor of Children’s Day.

Heads of various departments of JSS Educational Institution, including Shri Sampath, Shri Veerbhadraiah, Dr. H.M. Mahesh, Shri S. Shivaswamy, Shri G. Shivamallu, Shri M.G. Basavanna, Shri G.M. Shadakshari, Smt. P. Susheela, and Shri Mahadevaprasad, were present.

The program, masterfully conducted by the students, featured an invocation, a welcome speech, a vote of thanks, and seamless coordination by the event master, Smt. Nandini G.
