International Wrestler Praveen Shambhuling Sunaga Honored for Achievements

Suttur, April 26, 2021: Praveen Shambhuling Sunaga, an accomplished international wrestler, was felicitated during his recent visit to Suttur. Praveen Shambhuling emerged victorious in the wrestling tournament organized as part of the 6th Indo-Nepal Youth Rural Games and Sports Federation of India, clinching a gold medal after defeating competitors from 10 countries.

Praveen, an alumnus of JSS School in Halingali Village, Jamkhandi Taluk, Bagalkote District, expressed his gratitude while receiving the felicitation. He acknowledged the Suttur Residential School for providing him and thousands of other children with food, shelter, and education, enabling them to establish successful lives. He also shared that his interest and participation in Kabaddi during his school years helped him maintain physical fitness and eventually paved the way for his achievements in international wrestling tournaments.

“I come from a humble background, and it is due to the blessings of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji that I have been able to excel in sports,” Praveen expressed his gratitude. “I am thankful to the JSS Educational Institution for providing me with a strong foundation. It is truly a joy for me to visit the school where I received my education,” he added.

Sri B.A. Rajashekar, Director of the Physical Education Division at JSS Mahavidyapeetha, had the honor of felicitating Praveen during the event. Coordinating officers and headmasters were also present to celebrate his achievements.
