Indian Constitution is the greatest the world has ever seen – Dr. N. Anandgowda

November 26, 2019: The JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, observed the Constitution Day on November 26, 2019. A programme was held as part of the programme. Dr. N. Anandgowda, Professor, Political Science Department, Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru, spoke in detail about the formation, composition and significance of the constitution and the efforts and dedication of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and other leaders who framed the constitution. He also explained about the amendments made to the constitution from time-to-time, basic rights and many other things that has happened to the constitution till date.

“Our present Prime Minister was of the opinion that it is not enough if there is only a lesson about our constitution in the text book. But every citizen of India should adopt it. With this intention he introduced the ‘Constitution Day’ in the year 2015,” he explained. “It is very difficult to understand our basic rights without information,” he added.

In his presidential address Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, CEO of the College read the introduction of the constitution and explained it to the students.

Earlier Prof. M. Mahadevappa, Principal welcomed the guests and gathering. Smt. R.G. Asha, HoD, Political Science Department was present. Kum. Srikrupa gave an invocation. Student Venkatesh gave a vote of thanks. Kum. Pooja C.R., MA English student compered.
