Suttur, July 6, 2024: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Mysuru, partnered with Sanjeevini-KSRLPS to conduct a six-day workshop on Integrated Cattle Management at the JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Suttur.
Dr. Nagaraju, Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Mysuru, chaired the program, addressing the critical issues of livestock malnutrition and disease prevalence. He emphasized the ongoing efforts of department officials in conducting house-to-house inspections to identify diseases and provide necessary treatments, considering the financial constraints of farmers. Vaccination programs targeting diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease, lumpy skin disease, and intestinal ailments were highlighted as crucial for livestock health.
Dr. Jnanesh B.N., Senior Scientist and Head of JSS KVK, underscored the pivotal role of Pashu Sakhis in assisting farmers to enhance livestock health and increase income. He encouraged Pashu Sakhis to approach their duties with discipline and enthusiasm, emphasizing their potential to drive positive societal change.
The workshop, attended by over 62 Pashu Sakhis, also featured Dr. Mallikarjunswamy and Dr. Sharanabasava as key coordinators, along with Dr. Rakshitraj, a subject expert from KVK.
