Suttur, June 27, 2024: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Suttur, in collaboration with the National Seed Corporation, successfully organized a training program on June 26, 2024, for progressive farmers and women farmers. The program covered various crucial topics including fodder crops, E-Nam, Atal Bhujal Yojana, new crops, and seed production under the National Livestock Yojana.
Dr. Jnanesh B.N., Head and Senior Scientist at ICAR JSS KVK, inaugurated the event. In his address, he emphasized the importance of farmers leading by example, citing the success stories of apiculturist Jayashankar from Yadiyala and progressive farmers from Haratale.
Sri Subbireddy, Manager at the National Seed Corporation, provided insights into the corporation’s functions and introduced new crop varieties. Smt. Nischita, District Incharge Officer for the Atal Bhujal Yojana, spoke on water conservation, while E-Nam Aap officer Mahesh K.G. elaborated on the workings of the National Agriculture Market (E-Nam).
Dr. U.M. Rakshithraj, Subject Expert in Animal Husbandry at JSS KVK, discussed fodder crops and the subsidies available for farmers under the National Livestock Yojana. Smt. H.V. Divya, Subject Expert in the Seed Technology Division at JSS KVK, provided valuable information on the production and conservation of pulse seeds.
Approximately 70 farmers from surrounding villages participated in the training program, exchanging information and experiences. Progressive farmers Guruswamy and Nagendraswamy from Nagarle, and Prabhuswamy from Kalmalli, along with JSS KVK subject experts Dr. Prasad, Dr. Vinay, Sri Shamraj, Dr. Deepak, and Block Manager Gangappa Hipparagi, were present at the event.
