Promotion of Women Entrepreneurship: A Vital Focus, Says Dr. E. Mohanrao

Mysuru, November 15, 2021: Dr. E. Mohanrao, Director of the Khadi and Rural Industries Commission, emphasized the importance of promoting women entrepreneurship during a seminar on “Entrepreneurship Awareness” organized by the Food Processing and Engineering Division of the Department of Graduation and Post Graduation at JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, located on Ooty Road, Mysuru.

In his address, Dr. Mohanrao highlighted the significant contributions of women across various sectors and stressed the need for women to venture into entrepreneurship. He remarked, “Gone are the days when women were confined to the kitchen. Today, women are excelling in education and almost every sector. Numerous women have left their mark in various fields, including business. It is high time that more women direct their focus towards business and entrepreneurship. By acquiring training in multidisciplinary subjects, women can secure attractive jobs or even establish their own businesses.”

Presiding over the program, Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of JSS College, emphasized the importance of skill development and training in creating job opportunities. He stated, “Skill development plays a crucial role in enhancing one’s capabilities and opens doors to skill-based employment opportunities.”

The seminar was also graced by Dr. H.C. Honappa, the Principal of the college, Sri N. Prabhakar, Assistant Director of the Khadi and Rural Industries Commission, and Sri Shashikanth, Assistant Professor at KVIC. Kum. Shravya, Assistant Professor, skillfully compered the program, and Sri Bharath delivered the vote of thanks. More than 200 students actively participated in the seminar.”
