Suttur, October 17, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Suttur organized a training and demonstration program on the ‘Drone Usage in Agriculture’ at its premises, providing valuable insights for farmers from nearby villages.
Sri Munish, the Chief Executive Officer of Multiplex Company, conducted a detailed session on the usage and benefits of drones in agricultural activities. He showcased the practical application of drones by demonstrating the spraying of nano urea over the paddy fields at the JSS KVK campus.
Explaining the capabilities of these drones, Sri Munish highlighted their ability to cover up to 50 acres in a single day, with each acre taking just 10 minutes to spray 140 ml of medicine. The use of nanotechnology in spraying ensures maximum effectiveness on the crops. Weighing approximately 14 kilograms, the drones carry a 10-liter tank of medicine, bringing the total weight to 25 kilograms. Guided by GPS directions, the drones can efficiently cover the targeted crop area.
Smt. H.V. Divya, the Senior Scientist and Incharge Head of JSS KVK, along with Sri Shamraj (Cultivation Scientist), Sri Vinay (Horticulture), and Sri J.G. Rajanna (Program Assistant – Soil Science), were present during the demonstration. They assured the farmers of their continued support in providing technical information and drone services.
