Constitution’s objectives should be realised: Prof. B. V. Sambasivayya

Mysuru, November 26, 2025: “The Indian Constitution has great objectives. The structure of the Indian Constitution is well planned. The objectives of the Indian Constitution should be conveyed to the present generation and realised,” said Prof. B. V. Sambasivayya, Chief Executive Officer of JSS Arts, Commerce and Science College.

Speaking at the Constitution Day celebration programme at JSS Arts, Commerce and Science College on Ooty Road, Mysuru, he said, “Today, we should remember the efforts of the Constitution Drafting Committee. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s vision and hard work should be appreciated. Students should have a deep knowledge of the Constitution of India. They should know the Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties, and the amendments made from time to time. Knowledge of the Constitution makes us good citizens.”

The Principal of the college, Dr. M. Prabhu, said, “The Constitution of India is a comprehensive written constitution, which is a guide to fundamental rights, fundamental duties, and the system of governance. We all have to commit ourselves to building a future India according to the wishes of the Constituent Assembly.”

Head of the Department of Constitutional Law, Mrs. Asha R.G., spoke about Constitution Day, the formation of the Constituent Assembly, the role of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the formation of the Drafting Committee, and the importance of fundamental rights and duties.

As part of the Constitution Day celebrations, an essay competition was organised for the students of the college, and prizes were distributed to the winning students.

Mrs. Shruti L. S., Professor in the Department of Constitutional Law, welcomed the students. Faculty and students were present at the programme.
