Mysuru, November 16, 2022: The Department of PG Studies in Kaumarabhritya, in association with the NSS Unit of the JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Mysuru, had organized a program on the occasion of the Children’s Day on November 14. A free medical checkup camp was held for the benefit of the KRP Government School, Mysuru. Medical checkup was provided to 40 children studying from 1st to 7th Standards of the school free of cost.
The camp was conducted in the JSS Ayurveda Hospital premises, attended by Dr. Srihari S., Professor and Head, Department of Kaumarabhritya, and Dr. Shashibindhu, NSS Co-ordinator of the college. Postgraduates and interns also participated. The medical team provided comprehensive medical checkup to the children and advised various health and hygiene aspects. The children were also given tips on how to maintain their health and well-being.
Various games and other activities were also conducted for the children. The aim of these activities was to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle among the children. Various outdoor and indoor games were conducted, which the children enjoyed. It was a great opportunity for the children to socialise and have fun. Dr. Jyothy K.B., Professor, Dr. Visal S. Kumar and Dr. Preethi H.M., Asst. Professor, Department of Kaumarabhritya conducted the events.
Principal of the college Dr. Sarbeshwar Kar distributed the prizes to the children who won in various competitions. He emphasised the importance of the day, and explained about the lineage of Suttur Shri Guru Parampara. Chethana Medicaments of Kerala sponsored gifts for the winners of various competitions.
