Suttur, November 28, 2022: Minister for Sericulture, Youth Empowerment and Sports, Sri K.C. Narayana Gowda, emphasized the equal treatment of wins and losses in sports during his speech at the inauguration of the JSS Inter-Institutions Sports meet. The three-day event, organized by the JSS Mahavidyapeetha in honor of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, commenced with the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji on Monday.

In his address, Minister K.C. Narayana Gowda commended the JSS Mahavidyapeetha for its efforts in promoting sports among students and nurturing their overall development. He emphasized the need to prioritize mental health alongside physical well-being in this era of advanced technology and fast-paced lifestyles. The minister encouraged students to cultivate positive mindsets, disciplined lifestyles, and good thoughts to prevent mental health issues.

Presiding over the workshop, MLA Dr. Yateendra Siddaramaiah recognized the significance of the event for the students’ physical and mental development. He highlighted the role of sports in fostering leadership qualities and extended his congratulations and best wishes to all participants.

The chief guest, Commissioner of the State, Bharath Scouts and Guides, and former Minister, Sri P.G. R. Sindhia, compared the JSS Mahavidyapeetha to a banyan tree, providing education and shelter to thousands of students. He commended the disciplined and captivating parade and stressed the importance of sports and games in bringing peace to the minds and souls of individuals. Sri Suttur Swamiji’s guidance and involvement ensured the event’s excellence and integrity, according to Sri P.G. R. Sindhia.

The JSS Inter-Institutions Sports meet saw the participation of around 3,316 students from various categories. The event commenced with an invocation by the students of the JSS Residential School, Suttur, followed by a guard of honor given by the sports teams to the esteemed guests.

Dr. Rajendra Mahaswamiji’s death anniversary and Suttur Jatra Mahotsav meeting

The Bhoomipuja of various mantapas of the Jatra Mahotsav scheduled to be held on November 28, Monday, as part of the 36th death anniversary of His Holiness Sri Shivarthri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, was held at the Suttur Srikshetra today, in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Heads of various maths including Neelakantaswami math, Kuduru, Vatalu, Maadhalli, Bettadapura maths and officers of various departments of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha and others are seen in the picture.

Suttur, November 28, 2022: Rudrabhisheka, Ashottattara, Praakarotsava, and special pujas were held at the shrines of His Holiness Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji and His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, today early in the morning, as part of the 36th death anniversary of Sri Rajendra Mahaswamji, in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

Bhoomi puja of all the mandapas, auditorium, cultural programs, and the Jatara Mahotsav dasoha programs was also conducted as part of the His Holiness Adijagadguru Sri Shivaratheeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswami’s Jatra Mahotsav, which will be held from January 18 to 23, at the Suttur Srikshetra.

Jatra preparatory meeting: The preparatory meeting of conveners of various Jatra Mahotsav committees, leaders of the surrounding villages, and villagers was held. Heads of various maths, including the Vatalu, Bettadapura, Chikkatuppuru, Maadahalli, Kuderu, Chucnchahalli, Naviluru, Nanjangud, Ragibommanahalli maths and Haraguru Charamurthy, officers of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha, and devotees were present.

While Sri Subbappa welcomed, Sri H.L. Prakash was the compere of the program. He also gave a vote of thanks. Earlier, the program commenced with an invocation by the students of the JSS School, Suttur.

Constitution Day Observed at JSS College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mysuru

Mysuru, November 28, 2022: The JSS College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, located on Ooty Road, Mysuru, organized a program to commemorate Constitution Day.

The program featured Chief Guest Prof. R.M. Chintamani, a retired professor, who delivered a brief overview of the Indian Constitution. Highlighting the historical significance of the Morley-Minto Reform of 1909, Prof. Chintamani stressed the importance of familiarizing oneself with key elements of the constitution such as the preamble, fundamental rights, state policy, and directive principles. He lauded the Indian Constitution as one of the world’s great constitutions, particularly emphasizing its focus on social justice.

Presiding over the program was Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, who elucidated the purpose behind the formation of the constitution and provided insights into its various articles, parts, and annexures. He encouraged all participants to understand the objectives of the constitution and strive to become exemplary citizens of the country.

Principal Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar recited the Preamble of the Constitution, invoking the spirit of the document.

The program commenced with an invocation by third-year BA student Chi. Nitin. Smt. K.C. Shruti extended a warm welcome to the guests and the gathering. Smt. R.G. Asha, Head of the Political Science Department, delivered the vote of thanks. Sri T.S. Girish skillfully managed the program.

JSS Inter-Institutions Sports Meet

Mysuru, November 28, 2022: The JSS Inter-Institution Sports meet will be held from November 28 to 30, at the Srikshetra Suttur, in commemoration of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

The sports meet will be inaugurated at 4.00 pm on November 28, Monday, by the Sericulture, Youth Empowerment and Sports Minister, Government of Karnataka, Sri K.C. Narayanagowda, in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. MLA Dr. Yateendra Siddaramaiah will preside.

The four-day sports meet will host various sports competitions, including 100, 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1,500 meters running, 4×100 m relays, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, long jump, and high jump. A total of 17 different sports and games, including Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Ball Badminton, and Throwball tournaments will also be conducted.

More than 3,500 athletes from 130 various Institutions of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha will take part in the sports meet. There will be 125 sports officers. This sports meet is conducted every year for the last 26 years to encourage participation of school and college children in sports and games.

Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji’s 36th Death Anniversary and Jatra Mahotsav on Nov. 28

Suttur, November 26, 2022: The consultation meeting for the 36th Death Anniversary of His Holiness Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji and Jatra Mahotsav has been organized on November 28, Monday, at Suttur Srikshetra.

Rudrabhisheka, Laksha Bilwarchane, Ashttottara, and special pujas will be conducted on November 28, from early
morning. The Bhumipuja of the Jatra Mahotsav mandaps will be held at 9.30 am on that day in the presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji and heads of various maths, leaders, and the public. The preparatory meeting of the Jatra Mahotsav will be held at 10.00 am.

All the devotees and the public are requested to take part in the puja and other programs in large numbers and have the blessings of the Sriguru.

Science Expo 2022-23

Suttur, November 23, 2022: The Directorate of Urdu and Other Minorities Languages Schools, School Education and Literacy Department, in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Bengaluru, District Education and Training Institute, Vasanth Mahal, Mysuru, and Sir M. Visveswaraiah Technical University, Bengaluru, proudly organized a district-level Science Exhibition at the DIET, Mysuru on November 18.

Participants from seven taluks in Mysuru District competed across seven categories, showcasing their scientific prowess. Among the talented candidates, V. Vinodkumar, a Science Teacher from our esteemed school, captivated the audience with his demonstration of the ‘Automatic Hand Sanitizer’ model, earning him the well-deserved first prize. His remarkable achievement has secured his spot in the highly anticipated State-level competitions.

The outstanding accomplishment by V. Vinodkumar has garnered praise and congratulations from the administrative officer, department heads, and fellow teachers alike. His dedication and innovative approach to science education are a testament to the exceptional standards upheld by our school.

“Students who are studying at Suttur are virtuous,” observed Sri Narayana Murthy, Founding member of Infosys.

Suttur, November 21, 2022: Sri Narayana Murthy, renowned entrepreneur and Founding Member of Infosys, expressed his admiration for the students studying at Suttur during a prayer meeting held at the JSS Residential School on November 21, Monday. Alongside his wife Sudha Murthy, he commended the school for providing free education and boarding facilities to students from diverse backgrounds.

Addressing the students, Sri Narayana Murthy acknowledged the JSS Residential School’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals by imparting quality education, in addition to offering free food and accommodation. He encouraged the students to work diligently, become conscientious citizens, and contribute to the nation and society. Smt. Blessing the students, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji praised the modesty and down-to-earth nature of Sri Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy. He highlighted their remarkable journey, from selling their jewelry to establish Infosys, which has now grown into a globally renowned organization, employing over three lakh people. His Holiness also celebrated the Murthy couple’s son-in-law, Sri Rishi Sunak, who currently serves as the Prime Minister of Britain, a nation that once ruled India.

Business Process Management Industries to be Set up Soon in Cities: Mr. Karthigan Munuswamy

Mysuru, November 18, 2022: Mr. Karthigan Munuswamy, Associate Director of Talent Acquisition at Firstsource Ltd., Bengaluru, expressed optimism about the future of Business Process Management (BPM) industries during a program on Skilling for BPM held at JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru. The event, organized in collaboration with NASSCOM-Futureskills and Firstsource Ltd., aimed to provide insights and opportunities for undergraduate students in the BPM sector.

Highlighting the impact of the Future Skills Program by the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) under the Skill India initiative, Mr. Munuswamy emphasized the potential boom in BPM industries and the resulting employment opportunities for young graduates in India. He highlighted the importance of communication skills, problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and business development skills, which would be in high demand in the BPM industry.

Mr. Vineeth Kumar, Senior Manager of Human Resources at Firstsource Ltd., provided a comprehensive overview of the BPM industry in India, including available opportunities, job roles, responsibilities, growth prospects, and the significance of stability and benefits across various levels within the BPM sector.
