Training on product manufacturing using desi cow dung and urine

Suttur, January 12, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra, Suttur, had organized a training program on manufacturing various products using indigenous cow dung and urine, as part of the 75th Indian Independence Day celebrations.

Smt. Netravati Yettinamani, Home Scientist, JSS KVK provided information about the various products that can be manufactured using indigenous cow dung. She explained in detail the significance of indigenous cows, their dung and urine, and their medicinal qualities. She informed how various products like Vibhuti, Agarbathi sticks, Mosquito Coil, and other products can be manufactured using indigenous cow dung. She also explained how other products like phenyl, shampoo, etc. can be manufactured using cow urine.

A demonstration was performed on how to prepare vibhuti using cow dung and phenyl using cow urine.

The program was conducted for the benefit of self-help group women. After the training program, they were taken on a field visit to experience the JSS KVKs demo horticulture crop, nursery, vermicompost unit, vibhuti manufacturing unit, earthen pots making unit, and food processing unit, and necessary information was provided to them.

About 40 women from the Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Society, Nerale, and self-help groups of Badanavalu villages participated in the program.

Hyacinth beans HA-4 crop field day at Arakere Village

Suttur, January 12, 2022: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vignan Kendra had organized the ‘Hebbala Avare HA-4 (hyacinth beans) crop field day, at the Arakere Village, in K.R. Nagara Taluk, Mysuru District.

In her address, to the farmers Smt. Divya H.V., In-charge Head and Senior Scientist, ICAR JSS KVK, explained the specialty of Hebbala Avare HA-4 variety (hyacinth beans variety) during last year’s pre-monsoon season. She also explained the significance of seed treatment and the precautionary measures that need to be taken during seed production. Earlier, selected farmers of the village were provided with the required seeds, equipment required for the integrated treatment of the crop, neem decoction, light nutrients, fungicide for seed treatment, etc. Information on how to plant the branch, pest management, spraying of neem decoction, uses of vegetable abundance were also provided to the farmers. The farmers produced the new variety crop accordingly, following which the field was conducted in their agricultural fields.

The farmers expressed their view that the new variety of the crop was better than what they used earlier and also opined that they had received a better yield. They also informed that they could sell the crop when they receive better prices and in case of lesser price they can use it for seed production.

Smt. Divya H.V. explained to them that they could earn more profits through seed production. She also informed that the good quality seeds that are separated and dried would be purchased. “You can also store good quality seeds for your own use and also store them for a longer period using a mixture of ash and neem leaves. You can grow this variety in all the seasons and make a profit,” she added.

1062nd Jayanti Celebrations of Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji

Suttur, January 1, 2022: The 1062nd Jayanti Celebrations of Adijagadguru Sri Shivaratheeshwara Shivayog Mahaswamiji was held in the divine presence of Paramaujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji and pontiffs of various other maths, MLAs, former MP, former MLC and other elected representatives.

Pontiffs of Vatalu, Hosamatha, Kuderu, Madahalli, Chikkatuppuru, Kunduru, Alamatti, Baradanapura, Gowdahalli, Mudukanapura, Maadalli, Harave, Dandikere, Hullahalli, Mudigunda, Kunduru, Neelakantaswami Matha, Chunchahalli and Naviluru Maths, Haraguru Charamurthy, MLA Sri C.S. Niranjamurthy, Sri N. Mahesh, Sri Maritibbegowda, former MP Sri R. Dhruvanarayana, former MLAs Sri G.N. Nanjundaswamy, Sri M.K. Somashekar, Sri A.R. Krishnamurthy, Smt. Parimala Nagappa, Sri Balaraj, Kalale Keshavamurthy and others were present.

The Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji’s idol was taken out in a procession, led by several folk performance artistes, NCC and other teams, in the main thoroughfares of Suttur. Members of the JSS Lalitha Kala Vrunda and Ninanada of Mysuru presented devotional singing, light music singing programs. Former MLA Sri Balaraj and the Kadali Vedike team presented a vachana recital program.

The ‘Sri Suttur Shivarathreeshwara Almanac,’ authored by Jyotisha Mahamahopadyaya, Triskanda Jyotirvidwan, Siddanti Dr. K.G. Puttahonnaiah and published by the Bharatiya Jyotirvignana Samshodana Kendra, and the 2022 Kannada and English table calendars published by the JSS Mahavidyapeetha were released on the occasion.

Hundreds of devotees and other public who had arrived from various places including Mysuru, Bengaluru, Chamarajanagara, Mandya, Hassan, Ramanagara, Kodagu, Shivamogga districts witnessed the program.

Suttur Sri Shivarathreeshwara Almanac Release program

Suttur, January 1, 2022: The Sri Suttur Shivarathreeshwara Almanac,’ authored by Jyothisa Mahamahpadyaya, Triskanda Jyotirvidwan Dr. K.G. Puttahonnappa, published by the Bharatiya Jyotirvignana Samshodana Kendra, was released at a program held on January 1, 2022, on the occasion of the 1062nd Jayanti celebrations of Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji.

Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji graced the occasion. Vatal Sri, pontiffs of various maths, Almanac author Dr. K.G. Putthonnaiah, former MLA Sri G.N. Nanjundaswamy, Sri A.R. Krishnamurthy, Smt. Parimala Nagappa, Sri S. Mahadeviaha, Sri T.S. Lokesh Sri Nam. Siddappa, Sri S.P. Manjunath, Sri S.
