Women Urged to Prioritize Health and Well-being: Dr. Narayan

Kollegal, February 05, 2020: Dr. Narayan, Taluk Medical Officer of Kollegal, emphasized the importance of women being vigilant about their health. Speaking at a lecture program titled “Women’s Health – Problems and Challenges,” organized by the Senior Students Forum at JSS Women’s College in Kollegal, Dr. Narayan shed light on the health issues faced by women and urged them to take proactive measures.

“We must prioritize our health as individuals. Health problems don’t arise on their own; we are responsible for them. Instead of seeking treatment after falling ill, we should adopt a lifestyle that prevents health issues from arising in the first place. Including seasonal vegetables and fruits in our diet is crucial. Today, many diseases are caused by poor dietary habits, work pressure, environmental factors, and mental stress. It is important to consult a doctor promptly upon detecting any health problem and not delay seeking medical assistance,” advised Dr. Narayan.

Presiding over the program, Prof. Umesh, Principal of JSS Women’s College, Kollegal, highlighted the increasing personal challenges faced by people in the digital age, particularly women. He encouraged women to cultivate a mindset of resilience and courage in confronting these challenges. Prof. Umesh suggested engaging in activities such as reading books, practicing yoga, meditation, performing poojas (rituals), and visiting places of worship. He also stressed the importance of controlling desires and fostering harmonious environments to prevent the onset of various diseases.

Smt. Vani, Convener of the Senior Students Forum, and Smt. Mamatha were in attendance during the program.
