Suttur JSS Residential School Student Union Inaugurated

Suttur, July 11, 2026: The Student Union activities of JSS Residential School, Suttur, for the current academic year were formally inaugurated at a programme held on the school premises.

Inaugurating the Student Union, Natyacharya Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao, Director of Nupur Dance School, Mysuru, described the institution as a spiritual and educational centre that earns respect for every student who studies there. He said students should cultivate courage, determination and a fighting spirit to face challenges in life.

Prof. Ramamurthy Rao observed that participating in different activities alongside academics broadens knowledge and helps students understand the art of living. Comparing the education system of the past with the present, he urged students to remain active and undertake every task with confidence and courage. He emphasised that curricular and co-curricular activities are equally important for the all-round development of students. Wishing them success, he encouraged the students to become responsible citizens, bring pride to the country and attain distinguished positions in life.

Dr. M.N. Nagendra Prasad, Dean of JSS University of Science and Technology, Mysuru, advised students to dream with purpose. Recalling the words of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, he said, “Dreams are not what you see in sleep; dreams are those that do not let you sleep.” He also stressed the importance of gratitude and said students should always strive to give back to the institutions in which they studied.

Dr. Ashwini Prasad, Associate Professor at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru, said that the leaders of the Student Union should serve as role models and guiding lights for other students. She urged them to find happiness in the happiness and well-being of others.

Dr. S. Harshavardhan, an alumnus of Suttur School, was felicitated on the occasion. Addressing the students, he said the school had been a source of inspiration in his life. He observed that students who have a clear goal, recognise their abilities and work hard can confidently achieve their ambitions. He advised them to use their time wisely and avoid bad habits and excessive use of social media.

Shri Veerabhadraiah, Assistant Coordinator of JSS Institutions; heads of various institutions Dr. B.N. Gyanesh, Dr. H.M. Mahesh, Shri M. Rajashekaramurthy, Shri G. Shivamallu, Shri M.G. Basavanna, Shri G.M. Shadakshari and Shri G. Shivaswamy, among others, were present.
